Thats a good question. I'm currently trying to get a bunch of h.264 mp4 files to work with no luck. They play in everything else but SageTV.

Don't have an extender myself (outside of the 360), but I've seen several posts indicating no one's had any luck so far.

I just ordered one, too. I'd like another, but I need to verify this will work well with *most* of my existing hardware first, otherwise I have to do some PC upgrading.

I was about to post to all of you that the Buy link was up, but you all beat me to it

Edit: Neither my client or server are dual core, so I'll have to see how that all plays together. I'm guessing the server will be fine non-dual core, since the device itself is doing all of the compressing. The client PC might be a different story :P

Those of you buying more than one are brave ones.

I ordered one and am cautiously excited. I'm hoping it will work okay on my HTPC and will playback well on the extender. IF this is what we all hope it to be, this will be HUGE for the diy HTPC crowd and especially for SageTV and BeyondTV (and probably others). I'm really, really hoping here.

Got my order in. Hope this thing works like advertised (and can produce a file playable on the HD Extender unlike the samples out there already).

Ordered mine! I think it is safe to say that ShowAnalyzer will support these files fairly soon.

Ordered one myself. This better work or I hold everyone that bought one before me responsible.

(Then again I bought the HD Extender on nothing but faith and that worked out.)

Put an order in for one. I think one will be enough for me.

Does anyone know if usb 2.0 is required or not. It did not state in the requirements. I would need to get an add in card for usb 2.0.

I would think with these datarates

Quote:
Datarates from 1Mbit/sec to 13.5 Mbits/sec
You're going to want a USB 2.0. They describe the port in the HD-PVR as

Quote:
I/O

USB2.0 High speed Device
I think it just makes sense to have USB 2.0 in your PC.
