Oh man. Thats just not right .

I'm thinking that since you live fairly close to Hauppauge, NY (closer than KC at least) that could be why... Or maybe they just like your work on SageMC as I know at least one fan of your work at Hauppauge

I just got my tracking number too (Order #33757). Scheduled delivery date is June 2nd. Now I have to explain to my co-workers why I just got up and danced a little jig.

Aloha,
Mike

Hmmm, I couldn't find a shrug icon so this will have to do...

I thought I remembered seeing a commercial where they were working on wormhole technology. My guess is they finally got it working, but it requires the enormous geothermal energy that can only be provided by an active volcano.

Well mine was shipped. They decided to ship it by ground even though I told them to ship it by air. That means I have to wait for it to get here, then refuse the package and send it back. Then I have to reorder, this time hoping they ship by air. Because if they ship by ground I automatically get charged anywhere between $50-$100 in fees from the border.

Before you reject it, call Hauppauge. They might not have the ability to ship by air to your location (or something). They might refund you whatever the shipping difference is. Save ya the hastle and delays...

I'm glad at least a few folks will be getting tomorrow... I trust by Sat morning there will be some reviews and sample recordings. Remember, your obligation to the community far outweighs the petty desire for personal enjoyment

I just got notice for June 2 delivery. [Whiner mode on] Whhhyyyy couldn't they have shipped yesterday? [whiner mode off]. No regrets on not getting overnight shipping though as I recollect that was a lot more expensive than second day, plus I figured it wouldn't be an issue unless they managed to ship on a Thursday (1 in 5 chance, which they cashed in on).

First off they do have the ability to ship by air to my location. I and my roommate run 2 business out of our home and get shipments in and out every day. We have to pay to have it shipped by air or it will normally take 2-4 weeks (thats 14 – 28 days), then we have to pay normally $50- $100 in “brokerage fees” which is basically UPS's way of screwing Canadians. If we ship by air we get it in less than a week without the fees.

Second I'm completely lost as to what Hauppauge is doing. I got an E-Mail saying one thing, then an E-mail saying please ignore the first one, then yet another E-mail saying something else. I called them and the CCR says something completely different from the E-mails.

I suppose I just have to wait and see. If the package has COD on it its going back and I'm going ot be mighty pissed.

EDIT:

I just got an e-mail regarding my phone call (dam that was fast, they relay take complaints seriously) and they guarantee me that it will be shipped by air... I am impressed with this level and speed of response.

Yes indeed, we better have some reviews and sample clips from you guys!

A personal request - a clip from the Pistons vs. Celtics game tomorrow on ESPN if you could. Game starts at 8PM EST.

HD PVR

Dont know if it has been mentioned yet but I just noticed on the Hauppauge website they have a FAQ section now for the HD PVR. Here is the link.

http://hauppage.com/site/support/support_hdpvr.html

There is also links on that site to the manual, drivers, ect. for the HD PVR, although nothing has been posted as of yet.

On a purely selfish request, if someone would post some clips to Vimeo, that would be very appreciated. My plan for this device is to actually capture video game footage (specifically football video games) and mash them up in a highlight video. I would then post it to Vimeo to share with others.

Vimeo includes ability to upload HD footage (not sure about H.264) and allow for streaming as well as download of the original.

But if not, no worries. Again, just a selfish request but I can do the same myself come Monday... just that patience is not a virtue I possess.

Wow, looks like it's really going to be here tomorrow... The detailed tracking info is now available on the UPS site, and it says it just left Uniondale NY, about 80 miles from here...

Hehe... Actually, I have to prepare for a business trip to California, but I hope that I can still find some time for this stupid toy...

Looks like the guy who E-mail'd me assuring me it was to be sent by air lied. It was sent by ground and It looks like they expect me to pay them again to get the package.

Typical, this is why I try as hard as I can to never deal with Amrican company's. Its easer for me to have something imported from Japan half a world away, than from NY state that is 10 minute's away.
