Moving the card to a different slot can cause the card to use a different interrupt. (IRQ) A lot of times there are only so many interrupts available on a motherboard. Some can be shared and some can't. You can also try disabling ports you're not using (printer port, serial port) in the BIOS to free up those interrupts that the card would be free to use.
