I will be starting to look at an update to the SageMC SlimPlayer based on Koelec's revamped version before I get back to other NetFlix updates. Perhaps I will get Virtual Audio Cable support worked in after some experience with it on SlimPlayer.

Great to see you back Morgan. It's good to know you're doing ok!

Hey! Welcome back Morgan! If you couldn't tell, you've been sorely missed Although Sean did a great job with the update.

I know how busy life can get. I'm just glad to hear that you are well (at least it sounds like you are).

Cheers,

Peter

I'm hoping somebody can help me. I am trying to get the loopback function working on my HD200. Everything appears to be working properly with the exception of "Watch Now". For some reason it will only show my desktop when clicked. Previously I would get an "Interactive Services Dialog" message but with the help of this thread I changed the IE settings to run the 32bit instead of the 64bit and was able to log into Netflix and get the movie streaming. I actually thought this would fix the problem but I was wrong. It appears that every time I try to watch a movie now the service runs in session 0 (runs IE and Silverlight in the background) and all I see is the desktop. Is there an easy or hard way to get this fixed? I assume it's some stupid setting that I am missing. Thanks in advance.

Mine is down too. It must be a Netflix thing.

The netflix WatchNow movies look pretty horrible on my screen... I was having the same problem with the hulu desktop app, and found the only solution was to enable the Vista Aero theme...

I thought that would fix netflix too, and it MIGHT, the problem is everytime this plugin launches the netflix viewer, it automatically disables aero.

Any ideas on how to resolve that?? A new version of the netflix player maybe?

Yep, tested it out... re-enabling Aero and watching directly from netflix.com in a full-screen IE window and the videos look perfect. Try lauching from within Sage, and they look like garbage... exit out and find that Aero has been disabled. (which is likely causeing the bad playback.)

From what I remember you should have awero enabled anyways for best picture quality in all videos apps.
your internet speed can affect it as well. are you using the silverlight player?

how does it look if you try it from IE on the desktop?

I must not have explained properly... when the Netflix player from this app launches it is automatically disabling aero, which causes the picture quality problems.

If I re-enable aero and play from IE it looks fine.

I'm having 2 issues:

1. I can get it to work with my HD100 if I set my sageTV service to run as local system account. But I need it to run as a user account so my UNC paths work correctly. Is there a fix for this?

2. When I do set it to use local system account and click the allow service to interact with desktop check box, the movie will open and start playing. However, it only displays the very center of the movie (on the extender) in small square box. If I tune to the loopback channel manually I see the full desktop in 4:3 as I would expect it. Just not when I do watch now.

Almost forgot: I am using silverlight. If I do Internet explorer, nothing displays on the extender, i.e. it never tunes to the channel. But it does in fact open it on the server.

How to Pipe?

The instructions for doing a loop-back to allow Netflix to operate over an extender includes the step:

Connect the audio and video out of your server into the tuner card (you will probably need to lower your screen resolution).

Could you please describe how to do this.

Thanks very much.

Connect the s-video output of your video card to the s-video input of your TV tuner capture card. Connect the audio output of your sound card with the audio input of your TV tuner capture card.

I still can't add to my queue. Is anyone working on this? It stopped suddenly about a week ago. I can add from the internet so it's not Netflix.

Big Gerr,

Thanks much ... I assume you are talking about physical cables making these connections! I've been hung up thinking this is to be done through software ... never assume ....

Thanks very much, indeed.

So I installed this on a client machine last night. Thanks for the great plugin.

Everything seems to work. However, keyboard commands do not work. I'm using the silverlight player. The movie will launch into fullscreen just fine when i hit play. However, i can't stop, pause. or exit the screen.

Can someone help?

Correct. Cable it up.
And you're welcome.

Are you saying it works with a remote control but not with the keyboard? I've never tried to use it that way.

Have you tried using the normal keystrokes you would use if you were just watching the movie in IE? Space bar = pause/play, alt-F4 to close/exit? I know it's not the "correct" way, but it might work in the meantime until someone can give you a better answer.

It's my client test machine so I don't have a remote control connected, just keyboard and mouse.

I'll test with the above controls. However, I do remember attempting to close the window and alt-F4 did not work.
