Mine left LA at 7.20pm on 21st.

Like you say, Tuesday is looking favourite, unless for some inexplicable reason it came via terminal 5!

Once it gets out of LA it seems you need to look on your countries delivery services website. e..g. Parcel force for the UK.

The USPS site says "Your item left the United States from LOS ANGELES at 9:49 PM". According to the Parcel Force site (After putting in the code and posting date), mine is "Collected from customer".

Fingers crossed for next week then

This batch traveled much faster than the last batch. According to the canadian tracking site, my shipment cleared customs today. Why couldn't that happen yesterday. Now I have to wait for delivery on Monday and then I go out of town Monday afternoon.

Hi,

I would be interested to see the total price people are paying in the UK for these being imported.

Sage advised they ship it as a computer item so according to the government website there is 0% duty on computers, so that leaves VAT + clearance from the shipper.

So it looks like the price would be £135 (base price+shipping converted to GBP) + 17.5% + £13.50 clearance = £172ish. At this point its getting close to Tranquil's price of £184 and of if it goes wrong you wouldn't need to ship it back to the USA if you purchased from them.

Haven't checked to see if Tranquil actually have any though...

Mines now at my local Parcel Force delivery depot which is 15mins from where I live, so I gave them a ring and asked if I could collect it today before they shut and they said YES not a problem. Now gonna shoot down there and collect it, hopefully their wont be any problems when I get there

Edit:

Got mine

Seems to be ok, had a few problems to start with, mainly network issues. Aspect ratio and audio on some films and TV dont work correctly so I'll have to start reading the forums for some fixes. IR and remote is very poor IMO but I've put an IR extender reciever on it now and its much better.

Didnt pay any import taxes which is a nice bonus, £135 all in for me (roughly)

Wow, £135 all in, seems to be a lucky dip then.

What the issue with the IR?

For me the IR is very unresponsive no matter how hard I push the buttons or even when pointing the remote directly at the unit, but as I said above the IR extender thing makes it work much better.
The HD100 will be in the cupboard soon so its not even a minor problem for me.

I guess I was extreamly lucky not getting caught with customs fees but that will proberly change when I order my next unit in the very near future.

For those who aren't aware, once the USPS site says the package left the United States, you can use the same tracking number from USPS on the Canada Post web site to track its journey through Canada.

I just called Parcelforce to pay my charges.

I bought 3 units including shipping = $716 = £363.15
+ £74.14 customs
=£437.29
Which is £145 each.
3 Units from Tranquil would have been £509.95. A £70 saving is not to be sniffed at, though as you say - the advantage of buying from Tranquil is they are more local if you have issues.

You pays your money you makes your choice...

Cheers

I guess I was just lucky not having to pay customs, though I did deliverately get it sent to work. I was hoping that a customs official might think I'm a poor serviceman and let me off!

That said, my freezer packed in a few weeks ago so the money wont be in my pocket for long

Just got mine after UPS Ground delivery across the country. I now have to focus some time on setting up the SageTV server.

If I initially set it up on my main machine (so I can use the extender), can I then move my license to my Windows Home Server?

Just a small tip for those importing into the UK.
The power lead that comes with the unit is not electrically safe for use in the UK and obviously doesnt have a British Standard number as it wasnt intended for use outside of the US. It does not comply with UK regulations for portable appliances and could possibly invalidate your home insurance in the event of a fire caused by an electrical fault.

Having said that I'm still using mine with the original lead and have just ordered a second unit

Talking

Mine arrive yesterday at work - no customs charges either. Changed the plug when i got home (both wires were black which threw me for a while). Plugged it in and it was so easy to setup - didn't even need the firmware upgrade, even after upgrading the server to 6.4.3.

Picture is awesome - a very happy customer.

I called Parcelforce to pay. I think you can wait to receive a letter from them - but I was way too impatient!
