Just to expand on this, I now have it looking for images in a certain order. So it starts off first with season_banner > folder.jpg > IMDB (images from IMDB folder) > no cover art image (I've got to make this).
It looks for season_banner.jpg and folder.jpg in the media files folder which is usefull if your using imported media and Evil Penguins media scraper.
Hopefully this covers all bases and as a last resort if no cover art is found then you end up with one I'll make, it may look rough but its better than an empty space.

Wow that picks up one of the major things I am missing from media center. I can't wait to try this group view.

Ben,

Just a quick observation, with the screen cap, the cover art and the banner it seems like overkill almost. Perhaps something a little more minimal like the Episodes listed on the bottom left then take the banner box and the description box and stack them to the right stretching them to fill some of the remaining space?

The three panels can be repositioned by the user to where they would like to put them. I think you wanted something like the attached screenshot. I'm also thinking about allowing options for disabling various images as well but that could prove to be a bit tricky due to the shaded shapes.

Ben,

Nice! The turning off of various images would be nice. You could even re-size the episode box and the summary box and make them lower and wider to eliminate the need for scrolling text (kind of like the info box that pops up for the TV Info screen). I was thinking that would be more in keeping with the low-horizontal look of the TV Info import you already made purely for consistency between the multi-episode and single episode screens. just a thought! Keep up the awesome work!!!

where do you guys go to download all of the movie info? When I used the built in IMDB it only gets the description of the movie and not the rating, release date, and duration.

Anybody know of any good resouces for media specific logos like H.264, Divx etc. I've been seaching google for hours now and I keep getting the same images. I found a few over on MP's website but most of them are quite low resolution. I've attached a small sample of what I'm after.

Cheers

Ben

Thanks QueOnda but those are the exact same images I kept getting when I searched google. I wasn't too keen on them but I guess I'll have to make do with what I've got.

Many Thanks

Ben

Yeah, I had a hard time too. i did come up with a pay version, but I don't think that will work out too well. The icons you found, could you hunt down the person who origially made those icons to see if they have a higher res? Or do you that maybe someone with some photoshop skills can make them. I don't have photoshop skills. I am only able to make stick figures in photoshop.

I do know someone with photoshop skills but I think he's too busy at the moment. I can use the ones I have for now and maybe at a later date change them for better versions.

I think I made some headway, Let me know if this is what your looking for:

On wiki, I found some logos:

Divx
MKV

On a forum post found a website which has some nice logos. Here's one for Divx.

Key here is finding VECTOR images so you can scale to any size without loosing quality.

Don't know if you can convert what you have to vector: http://vectormagic.com/home

Some nice links there I never found the matroska image so I'll be using that one I do find it strange that theirs no sites that carry all the logos for the most poplular types of media.

Does the vector magic work for you? What else are you looking for? What is the minimum image size you need?

I havent looked at vector graphics yet. I'm looking for all types of media graphics:

.avi
.mkv
.xvid
.divx
DVD
Dolby Digital
stereo etc.

I'm not too sure about image size but I dont want it to look too crappy due to small image sizes. I think around the 50k size would be good, I've only just started to play with this so its really only an idea at the moment even tho I have it working in my setup. I also dont want the whole screen covered in icons for the media so I may have to limit what the user can use, ideally I only want to use 50% of the bottom of the screen. When I get home from working away this week I'll post some screenshots of what I have done so far so you can see where I'm going.

I also wanted images to display for the media contents genre type but that may just be over the top. All these ideas come from MP's tv series import.

I've attached a screenshot of where I'm up to with the logo's. After not seeing it for a few days I'm now thinking that what I have and what you've posted is all I really need. I'll still add the parental ratings if the episode data contains it but I don't think I need to use genre icons as this is just over kill and the screen will end up looking over crowded.
