Wakecrash - My server does default to the M780 first when viewing from my DirectTV channels. However, I have had both live shows and pre-recorded shows give me trouble. In fact, I currently have a show that was pre-recorded but never watched by any client that won't delete.
If you only want to share a folder and not the entire drive, right-click the specific folder. There should be a sharing option in the pop up menu. Alternatively, go into the properties for the folder. Somewhere in properties tabs, you can get to the same window that allows you to turn on sharing for that folder.

BFisher - Interesting, I'll keep trying to delete them to see what happens. Do you use the M780s for analog or digital recordings?

Both... connected to my OTA antenna for HD signals, and to my DirecTV boxes for analog SD.

I also see this prpblem every once in a while. I have an m780 as well and it is used for analog and ATSC recording and has the highest merit for both. It seemed to be the worst for some specific tv series. I do not watch live TV using sage, only watch recordings. I am using the service and watch most of my stuff on the server machine or my 1 client PC (not an MVP). I have to stop the sage service, delete the video thru windows, and restart the show.
Config:
WinXP pro
AverMedia M780 (2.5.0.14 drivers), Vbox, 2 PVR 250s
Highpoint RAID 5
SageTV 6.2 release
nvidia 8600GT (also occurred with 6800GT card)
Intel WH motherboard with C2D and 1gig mem.

Perhaps there's a trend here. It will take some more time for me to be certain on my end, but I think the only shows that won't delete are analog recordings on the M780. I'm checking details on each show before deleting to see which card performed the recording.

Yea, I am positve it has nothing to do with watching live. I just got back from a trip and when I got back per computer mgt, Sage still had about 30 files open. All were recorded with the M780. I sent Sage a screen capture.

I have not heard a reply from Sage tech since 12/7. Anyone else working with Sage support?

I am fairly sure that our problem comes from analog only recordings on the M780. OTA HD files seem to be fine for me. I decided to try a driver update. I was previously using 2.5.0.14 for the M780. Avermedia's latest driver is 2.5.0.19. So far, this seems to be working - no stuck shows. I will give this a few more days and post my results. Perhaps anyone with this problem could post their driver version for comparison.

.19 is the version I have been using from the start. If it works for you perhaps I will just need to uninstall and reinstall drivers.

Not the driver

I spoke too soon. The newest driver seemed to work for a couple of days but then stopped. I am still only having trouble with analog files recorded on the M780 - that much seems to be consistent.

Check out the list of fixes for the latest RC
Ues a temporary walk around way for a M780 bug that recording file is locked, and resource isn't released.
I plan to upgrade tonight
