Hi,

Where will the formal announcement be made when they are released? It would be great if there was one place I could check every hour or so to make sure I get one before they sell out.

I would think it should be on the front page of Sagetv.com when it is released. If you constantly check from now till release day, then you'll have a better chance of placing your order(s) in before it is sold out.

You could use a service that monitors web pages on a daily basis (if daily would be often enough for you), such as changenotes.com or changedetect.com.

I just set one up for the SageTV Store under Hardware. We'll see if that works out or not.

So it is after the middle of november and still no word on the HD Media extender. This is so typical of Frey Techologies. I have little faith we will see this product before the end of the year.

Give us some info!!!

Support for STX-HD100

Anybody seen the release notes for 6.2.3? It claims support for the STX-HD100 media extender! So now, I guess we have an HD media extender?

That's not new for v6.3.2... that was mentioned as part of the previous v6.3.1 beta.

I searched for detailed information about the STX-HD100 media extender on Google, and did not find any product information. Is there a reason why there isn't detailed information published about the STX-HD100 media extender?

If the STX-HD100 media extender actually exists, then there should be a photo and product information available. Otherwise, people may come to their own conclusion that the STX-HD100 media extender is only talk, and not reality.

Narflex has posted that the extender is not some off the shelf product. It's something developed specifically for Sage.

Sage is no hardware shop. Think Sage MVP. It's not going to go that much further than that, maybe a branded case. And why should they?

Well, there's a first for everything. And this is probably their first hardware. Snapstream also made their own hardware, the Firefly remote. For the STX-HD100, I'm guessing some other hardware company is building it for SageTV, but it will be made specifically for SageTV. From the little info they are giving us, it seems like it is a specialized hardrware for SageTV and not just a rebranded device like the MVP.

We'll find out in a couple weeks, hopefully with no further delays.

I don't particularly care if it's a rebranded or reboxed unit, I just care that it exists, it works, and it is priced right.

I think Andy's post (referenced above) is pretty clear that it is something new....

Seems like bad business to not have a product out by now that is supposed to be available for Christmas.

As long as it's released the first full week of December, that should be plenty of time to buy it, have it shipped, and received well before Christmas. I don't think UPS or FedEx would take more than 2 weeks to ship something to you, unless of course, you could get "Budget We Pay You For It Economy Ultra Super Saver Slow Shipping."
