HDHR stutter / slow-motion

It could be a codec thing... but further investigation will have to wait. Looks like the HDD I moved is taking a crap on me. It disappeared from the system last night. On reboot, it comes back for a while but then drops out again. I have tried different SATA ports, different PSU cable, different SATA cable, no luck. I think it's the drive itself... getting "bad block" errors in the Windows System Event Viewer before the "drive was disconnected without being prepared" message. Going to try SeaTools tonight to diagnose (I think it's under warranty still).

Currently I am using the Cyberlink decoder, but since I am using Vista Ultimate, I may try the MS Decoders and see how they stack up.

I've got Intel E4300 (1.86GHz) Core2Duo, GeForce 8500GT video card... I don't think it's a lack of horsepower causing lockups.

If anyone came up with a solution, I would love to hear about it (I realize this is an older thread). I just found this thread and it was helpful, but my problem doesn't seem to be related to decoders.
