Sage keeps adding the avermedia tuner to that ingore encoders line in the "sage.properties" file. I've deleted it and restarted Sage several times but the setup wizard just lists my Hauppauge card. Any ideas?

Will do. Just for reference I just have the M150 and my PVR250 in this machine. Also the exact line in the properties file is:
mmc/ignore_encoders=Conexant 23880 MPEG Video Capture

SHS - I would love to know about your workaround. I haven't tried the 150 in my SageTV system yet, but I am planning to try it out tonight ... and it would be nice to have your workaround handy so that I can try it immediately if needed.

I will send you a separate e-mail requesting this ... this is just a heads up

OK SHS has been very good about helping me with this. Much thanks to him. In keeping with his previous post I won't really say anything yet. Except this one point, that caused me problems:

The Avermedia drivers. If you have WinXP make a System Restore point before you install them. Better yet don't even install them unless you want to play with the card in Graphedit or try out the non Hardware encoding capabilities of the card in other nonSage software. This is just my opinion.

SHS is going way out of his way to help us, so let's all be very nice. He wouldn't keep anything from us any longer than he has to. All of us in the PVR community owe him alot.

justme - can you at least let us know if you could finally get the Aver 150 working with Sage or not ? Just a simple Yes/No will do.

Sounds like I should wait and not even put this card in my Sage system until you guys have figured this out

No,not yet. But I'm very sure it will work soon.

I will post as soon as I get it working, unless asked not to. I will say that my hopes are now VERY much higher than they were 1 day ago. SHS is not the type of person who lets things beat him. I'm fairly sure this whole issue would be settled by now if Jeff weren't unfortunately occupied by CES. The two of them have never let me down.

What ever happened with this?

Anyone ever PM Jeff / email support@freytechnologies.com to see if this can get on the very, very soon radar?

Should be easy, I would think, from a development standpoint..

Jason

I was hoping this thread would stay dead for a while longer but...

I emailed support and got a response. They said that "blackbird" style cards should be able to be supported in a future version of Sage. They said they would post or email when they are ready to start testing. But I would still hold off on getting one until the few of us who have one, have gotten it to work, when this future version of Sage comes out. So I guess it's a wait for Jeff to get back from CES thing.

EDIT:I won't post any more updates until Frey support gets the M150 to work with SageTV. Or unless SHS is able to get his workaround to enable these cards for the current version of Sage. Even then I will hold back on posting, if either of these two ask me to. Until they give the OK to post OR they post themselves. This has nothing to do with keeping secrets just cutting down on confusion. So unless you see a post from one of us you'll know there has been no change in the situation. And therefore no need to post asking if there is a change. In the meantime lets all keep our fingers crossed.

Makes sense to me! Was just chomping at the bit because of the price. BUT, I can wait.

Thanks for the update. I'm a lot of the 'back burner' things will start hitting the radar after the initial v2.0 gets going.

Patience, I guess.

Jason
