Sorry I have been waylayed ATM.
SageTV Recordings Importer will import anything the webserver lists, so check the webserver to see what is there. You will need to run the tvnight importer to get banners and season images in the archive view of TVnight. Or you can press whatever key you have set to 'pop up menu' (within the TVNight configuration) and you can search for the images from within tvnight. Wthin TVNight config, set the recording library to the library imported by sageTV recordings importer. Set the archive library to a different library (this library is used to store items 'archived' from within TVNight. this is also most liekly the library you want to add the TVNight importer to). The TV Series library needs to be set to the library created by the TVNight importer after it has been run the 1st time. If you set the 'select start page' to recent recordings, then when you enter TVNight you should see a list (not images) of Sage's recently recorded shows. TVNight's archive view is used to display image banners and season images while viewing 'archived' shows that have either been recorded or downloaded and saved. MeePlay2Sage should make the file start playing in Sage. I don't do it that way anymore, but I'll test it out. |

Making some progress
The most important thing to me FIRST is to click on a Sage recording in Meedio and have it launch in Sage...automatically. I'm using the latest version of Sage 6. something. Does that matter?

I've had problems recently too - don't know if it's a new Sage Build - or the webserver - i'll have to test...

Questions while you test
Kricker,
I have Sage Importer and TVNight Importer setup like so, is it OK this way. This library stuff gets confusing. Under media libraries I have the usual Movies, Music, Weather, (New one)Sage Recordings, and another new one named Series. Sage Recordings is the one I have the TV Night importer in as well as the Sage Importer. So in the Sage Recordings library under the IMPORTS tab I have two importers setup, Sage Importer and TV Night importer. In the TVNight importer screen under Series Information Library I have it pointing to the "Series Library". Question: to create a library for TVNight to populate you must pick a different library (Series in this cas) than the one you have TVNight set up in (in this case Sage Recordings library) Also!??? you have to pick an IMPORTER in order to creat that different library (Series in this case). What does one chose? Or doesn't it matter? I picked TVNight Importer, (see, this is one of those things...steps, that you really smart guys take for granted that we know, but we...me don't). By the way I make that statement with the utmost respect. OK, so I run the TVNight Importer from the Sage Library (Sage importer is in there too) and it runs fine and populates the Series Library...good? Is this setup correct? Is there a better way to do it? Thanks for the help. Last edited by MiGster; 07-07-2007 at 08:35 AM. |

My setup:
library/importer Recorded TV/SageTV Recordings XML Importer Archived TV/TVNight Importer Series (library created by tvnight importer)/no importer There really is no reason to run the TVNight importer on the Recorded TV library, all the info for that library is taken from the Sage Database by the importer. This library is used in TVNight to allow quick access to playing recorded TV from the Recent Reordings screen. The recorded TV library will change based on whatever sage is doing with your recordings. You might want the 'SageTV Recordings XML Importer' set to run every half hour or so, or use the 'trigger me' plugin to watch you recording directory and fire off the importer when a new file has been added to that directory. This will help keep the Meedio library and Sage database in sync. The archived library is used by TVNight to 'archive' recordings you want to save indefinately. This is used by TVNight's Archive page. This is the page where you will see banners and season images. You can bring items into this library in many other ways such as importers for downloaded shows. Running the TVNight importer on this library will get all the info needed to show in the archive view including banners and images if they exist. I hope this helps. I promise I guide wil be written ASAP. I am covered with work ATM. Last edited by kricker; 07-07-2007 at 11:06 AM. |
