I see your problem. You are running java 1.4.2_11. This plug-in requires at least java 1.5. I highly recommend the latest 1.6.0_1. This has been running rock solid for me. HTH

Aloha,
Mike

Edit: Note that once you have updated your java version, you will have to go through the import process again. The import libraries used also require at least java 1.5. Good luck!

Hyperbaric,

I'm guessing that you upgraded to java 1.6 to use the calendar?

It looks like you might be having an issue with xerces.jar (I think this is used for an xmltv importer). I have read that it is not compatible with java v1.6. A solution was offered here. Can you try this and see if it helps? Thanks.

Aloha,
Mike

Edit: Here is something else I found regarding this issue.

Went to Java 1.6 when it came out. xerces.jar not on my drive. Already had Xerces-J-bin.2.9.0 on the drive from somewhere, copied the two jar files to Jars dir as mentioned in your post. No luck, still crashes the same.

Your classpath shows C:\Program Files\SageTV\SageTV\xerces.jar. Could you check just to make sure it isn't there?

If that isn't it, try removing the .jar files that came with the calendar import. (calendar.jar, gdata-calendar-1.0.jar, gdata-client-1.0.jar, and gkusnick.sagetv.jar) If sage then starts normally, try putting them back into the JARs folder one-by one until sage stops working. I hope that made sense.

Aloha,
Mike

Oh my... just realised I've been loading the xml file instead of importing it.

Slightly embarrased now

Removing all of the mentioned Jars had no effect unfortunately.
What other imports do you have installed? If you switch back to a clean (no imports) version of SageMC, does it behave normally or does it have the same problem?

No worries.

Does that mean it's working now?

Yep, works well! Cheers.

Between this Sage integration, SynQ and Oggsync - I now have absolutely everything syncronised! My work calendar, my Google calendar, Outlook and PDA calendar. Change one and they all update.

Fantastic

Another item of note. Quite often I have multiple "events" that occur (like b-days) on the same day. When you go to look at the day it shows events and their time..but if you have multiple "all day" type events it will only show one if look at just the day (it shows up fine when looking at the month calendar). Nothing major...just a small notice.

Thanks. This is a known issue. When I first put together the UI, I didn't take into account that there may be multiple events per time slot or multiple all-day events. (I also neglected events that last more than one day)

I have been thinking about how to handle these issues. I have a pretty good idea how to handle multiple events per time slot, but I don't have multi-day events figured out quite yet. This is going to take a pretty major reworking of the calendar, but rest assured that I am working on it. However I suspect it will take at least a month or so to implement. I may release a minor update before then to address some other minor issues/improvements.

Thanks to everyone for your patience.

Aloha,
Mike

I got plenty of patience...the plugin has already saved me a ton of issues with me and my wife trying to coordinate our schedules. If those two issues are the only ones I have...I guess I really have no complaints. Thanks again for all your work.

EDIT: Spoke to soon. upgraded sage, sageMC, and calendar last night and now calendar won't update Oh well...

How to import the calendar.xml?

Chaps,

Sorry to bother you with a newbeeish question, but I try to follow the install instructions and when I get to "importing the STVi", I can only import ".stv" files and not the calendar.xml file. What am I missing?

Mathias

I would recommend reading the SageMC thread @ the beginning. It talks about imports and interfaces and stuff and how they work. I'll try and explain this as I understand it.

The first thing you do change your UI to SageMC. This is under the normal path of detailed setup --> advance --> go from SageTV3.xml to SageMC16x9.xml (or something close to this).

Now what you are looking for is something called "import STVi" in the SageMC menus. This is not in the "detailed" setup are that the default Sage has. This is a button created for "importing STVi". Click this...path to the google.xml file and click import. When you do this it will create a Sage16x9-1.xml file which is now what you are running.

Hope this clears up the mud.

Actually, the "Import STVi" button is just a short cut. The one in 'Detailed Setup / Advanced" still works, as in the default STV.

This quote makes me think you are using the old mlbdude version which was a .stv file that only allows .stv imports. You could manually edit your .properties file and change it from .stv to .xml and then you should be able to import .xml imports.

Sorted

I installed SageMC first and then it was all working as the installation described. Thanks.
