I guess I should have phrased it as "On the server machine, running the SageMC interface, the calendar works great". That is what I meant by default. I'll chose my words more carefully next time.

Hey...This is probably what's causing my problem too. I'll check when I get home to be sure. Sorry for the mis-direction if I wasn't clear that I was using an MVP.

My main server is "head-less" sitting in a closet so I do all my viewing from MVP's

STV

MeInMaui - In an early post it was asked and you agreed you might try porting this over to standard SageTV STVi. Since it is such a great looking and much needed add on ... any progress report?

We haven't started yet, but we are still planning on looking into it. Right now I'm working on a bunch of changes/additions to the calendar that I'd like to finish first. I'm hoping to have that update finished within about a week.

Aloha,
Mike

Ok...that fixed transprancy problem. I imported the Google calendar xml into the main server's client and then loaded that XML (ended up being SageMC-10.xml)

It's not retrieving my Google calendar on the MVP...so I'm going to try it from the main server and see what happens.

one questions does the username need the domain added? i.e. @gmail.com

I've now completely ditched yahoo calendar for google over this change. While the sync of google isn't as good as yahoo with other programs...i'll get over it. Here is a couple of things I noticed.

1. Right now if I set an event as all day in google I cannot edit it in sage. Nothing huge to me since all I do is pretty much read only in sage. Your notes say I can...but it didn't work for me. I'll try again after I get back

2. If I set an event to span multiple days lets say from today @ 5pm to next monday @ 6 pm (hint, me and the wife are going on vacation) the calendar does not span the days correctly. IIRC it shows up at a meeting today from 5pm to 6pm and completely skips the other days.

3. How did you get all the holidays to show up. That is pretty nifty IMO.

Of the two issues I listed, I think #2 is probably the biggest.

Otherwise...still loving this plugin. Of all the progression of features added to Sage so far by the developers here, I think this one needs to be near the top for the single point of that it is something everyone can get good use out of. I would have to rate this feature since sage 1.0 in the top 10 of things added (transcode still being #1 IMO).

Yes it does. Glad to hear your transparency problem is fixed.

Thanks for the feedback!

I'll look into 1 and 2.

You can add the holidays by loading the appropriate holiday calendar through the web interface. (There is no way to search all of the calendars from the plug-in)

Aloha,
Mike

Thanks...adding the domain to the username fixed it. Now we'll have to verify the WAF.

update...it works using the client on the server, but does not show data when using it from the MVP. I copied the same settings from the SageClient.properties file into the MVP's properties file.

Anybody got it working from an MVP?

Thanks,
Rick...

There was at least one report that it works on the MVP, but I haven't tried it myself.

I tried it last night on my MVP. It didn't show any data at first, even after a few restarts. But after I imported another plugin it suddenly worked I'll have to check the logs if I can find anything...

Oh btw, the button bar animation works flawlessly on the MVP

For use on the MVP, you have to start up the UI on your server and import the plugin there. Once you have done this, then you can load the STV (with the calendar already imported) on your MVP. Note also that you must be running at least Java 1.5. Both of these requirements are due to the Studio Tools libraries used to generate the import. If these don't address your problem, then try this.

Aloha,
Mike

I imported the Toolbar import on my server and then selected the new SageMC.xml on the MVP. The Toolbar does drop down, but selecting the calendar still does not display any data.

Working on a client here, not MVP... I have tried the background thing. Even changed to a different file (from the liquid theme). Noticed the new graphic immediately on the screen, but still get the same "Ghosting" problem with the calendar plugin...
Any other suggestions?

Could you post a screen shot of the ghosting? Thanks.

Aloha,
Mike

Edit: Could you also enable debug logging, go into the calendar and then post your log file? Thanks again.

Talking Version 0.2 Now Available!

Hi Everyone,

This update adds a number of new options/features as well as a few bug fixes. Here is the change log:

Quote:
v 0.2

STVi changes

Added parsing of events when downloaded in 24hr format
Added option for shortened inline event display (only displays start time and event description)
Disabled 'shrink to fit' for inline event text and made font size user configurable in options menu
Changed inline event display logic. Will now display more than one event per calendar (displays up to 6 total events inline at default font size).
Added heirarchy to options menu to allow for more options than can fit in two columns
Toggle info panel display (can be mapped to Info or Custom1-5 keys and also added to options menu)
Made Info Panel event font size user configurable
Added enable/disable option for each custom calendar
Added option to enable/disable sunrise/sunset display in info panel
Added option for time display on main menu icon
Added code to allow the user to move the main menu icon location. (Hit options key while icon is highlighted and use arrow keys to move the icon)
Made Daily Planner event font size user configurable
Changed display logic in Daily Planner so that only items in default calendar will be shown
Added date display to the start/stop times when adding/modifying and event in Daily Planner
Disabled video preview in Calendar and Daily Planner screens

calendar.jar changes (Thanks Dirk!)

Increased event download limit from 25 to 1000
Changed user/password properties to google_calendar/user= and google_calendar/password= (Note: The old user/password location is still recognized. There is no need to change this if already entered.)
There are still a few outstanding issues that didn't make it into this release. We are still working on supporting events that extend beyond one day. As it is presently, you can add long events and they will show up correctly through the web interface, but the plugin still displays them as ending on the same day. We hope to have this resolved for the next version.

Aloha,
Mike
