Make sure you've updated your java to the latest. Should be 1.6.0_04. Make sure to uninstall the old version first.

What STV did you import the calendar into?

Gerry
I've currently got 1.6.0_03 installed, so I'll download the latest when I get home and give that a go.

Thanks

Just for kicks and giggles, try loading the original SageMC_169.xml file and import just the calendar plugin.

Also, what version of SageMC are you running? At least v6.3.4 is required. You can find the version number in the information pane in the Settings menu.

Aloha,
Mike

I've unistalled the Java, installed latest Java 1.6.0_04 but still the same problem. Then I loaded the SageMC_169.xml file and imported the calendar plugin but still with the same problem.

However then I was looking through the sage.properties file and it suddenly dawned I me that I set up the google calendar account with a slight variation on the password I generally use. Corrected the password and it works fine

I cannot beleive that I overlooked that so many times

Sorry to have wasted you time guys and thanks for your help

Question

I've got the same issue as the quote below, but unfortunately there doesn't seem to be a post with the fix !
SageTV works fine on the Server (Windows XP) showing calendar, however my PC (Windows Vista) with Placeshifter just shows a black background with calender and ghosting/overlay effect and 2 X MVP's both look like they have the correct background but also the ghosting/overlay issue.

If the background.png is the resolution to this problem where should it be saved too ?

Whilst I've got your attention I have another question

Initially when I loaded SageMC on the server the STV is SageMC16x9 then when I import the Google Calendar it changes to SageMC16x9-1. When I then go to Placeshifter or MVP's should I be changing from the standard STV to SageMC by loading the SageMC16x9 and importing Google Calendar or load SageMC16x9-1

Hope the above makes sense, any help appreciated.

Anyway, I loaded the Google Calendar STVs and I can get to Google Calendar well from a computer running SageTV Client. If I use Placeshifter, or a MediaMVP, I get the problem of the odd overlay, in which the recommended action was to define a background.png. Well, I am not sure where this is.

The only file in \sagetv\sagetv\stvs\sagemce is the zip codes file. I think what you are referring to in the the Themes directory (am I wrong?). If so, I still cannot find how to refer to this background.png (I saw the background file of background.jpg in the Standard STDV directory)

Should I make a change instead (on the MC computer) in the sage.properties or sageclient.properties file? I did, and restarted the server, but no luck. The calendar loads with data, but still that overlay problem, which makes it un-usable on the Placeshifter or MediaMVP.

Note that I am using a fresh install of SageTV (but I copied the wiz.bin file from my old installation). I am using the latest versions. In addition to the google calendar STV I have the dynamic menus and comskip utility.

Thanks for any help you can provide.

@simonk1969

I think that both of your questions might be related.

For now, the Google Calendar import does not support importing on an extender or placeshifter. You have to import it on your server and then load the STV with the import already installed (SageMC_169-1.xml in your case) on any extenders or placeshifter clients. The next compatibility update will fix this.

If you tried to import directly on an extender or placeshifter, then the blackscreen you observed could easily be the result. HTH

Aloha,
Mike

Wow, apparently I've been under a rock never seeing this STVi before. Anyways, I'm wondering if there's a way to add custom colors for more than 3 calendars? I have 8 on my google acct (3 kids, me, x-wife, girlfriend, holidays, brother), so having custom colors would certainly help alot. Is there a setting I could manually update? or would this require an update to the STVi? Thanks.

Can we set it up so the event reminders (ie to pay a bill) show up while we're watching TV? I'm trying to figure out a way to be reminded of an event whether I'm watching TV fullscreen in sageTV or when SageTV is sleeping.

Ok, so mine when I try to have it show the day (selecting from calendar), it shows no events. This a bug?

Nice, but where does it look for the zip code?

New to SageTV and really impressed, at least partly because of how user-extensible it is.

Have a problem with the sunrise/sunset times in the info panel, however. This first post in this thread mentions that this plug-in (is that the correct terminology?) looks up my zip code in ZIP_CODES.txt after reading it from my weather configuration. Well, my zip code is confirmed to be in ZIP_CODES.txt and my weather is functioning correctly, yet this plug-in isn't reading the zip code from wherever it is looking for it.

So, my question is: Where does this plug-in EXPECT my zip code to be? Specifically, in what file?

In my current setup, with weather functioning properly, the only (obvious) configuration file in which I can find my zip code is in sage.properties in the line:

epg/zip_code=27410

which I assume is for the program guide. But if someone can tell me where the Google Calendar plug-in looks for it, I'll make sure that it is in there.

TIA,
Tony

I recently migrated from BTV and am LOVING the enhanced MVP features Sage and you fine folks have developed. Kudos!

Now on to my newbie questions...

- How can I move "July 2008" so that it sits right above the calendar?
Right now it's too high and covers part of the DiskSpace bar (see picture below).

- How can I increase the font size of the sunrise and sunset?

Thanks!

Love this plug in

Mike,

I just wanted to give a big thank you for this plugin.

I am a stay at home dad I find this an invaluable way to quickly see what is going on with everyone's schedules so I don't miss something.

I tried to use this plug in when I did my original set up about a year ago (convert from BTV & BM). It didn't display right away and after some work I couldn't figure out why. Finally came back to it when I upgraded my server and realized it was because I had to link to it in the menu.

Thanks again for a great plugin!

Tim

Windows Live Calendar integration

I use Windows Live Calendar. Does anyone know how to import that into the Google calendar? Windows Live Calendars can be exported as html, xml, or rss feeds. None of these appear to be supported by the Google calendar which says you can import iCal format.

Any ideas so I can use this plugin?

Thanks

Still Working in Sage 6.4.8 with default STV?

I just came across this and it would be great to use. But, when I go to Online Services I see a xxGoogleCalendar entry and when I select that all I see is a BIG "Back" button. I'm using JRE 1.6.0_07 and Sage 6.4.8.0 with the default STV. No other STVi. I've entered "(me)@gmail.com" for the username and verified by copying and pasting into a browser that the username and password are correct. I see the last entry on this thread is a little old so I'm wondering if this still works?

Thanks for any help,
David

The support for the default STV was experimental and I haven't looked at it in a long time. I wouldn't be surprised if it was no longer working.

I'm up to my eyeballs in other projects right now, so I'm not sure if/when I'll get to look at it. The SageMC version needs some attention at some point as well.

Aloha,
Mike
