I downloaded the latest version...however, when I go to select the compression profile there is only a "+" button...and no "-" button. In otherwords, if I miss the profile I want to select I can't go back!

On what panel? I've got + and - on all mine.

John,

I see what is wrong I use penguin's compression. So if you have it setup for evil penguin. you don't get that option. I had to set it to default set the comskip then reset to evil's compression.

PS I have - and + on all my panels too.

Hi nyplayer, with the current version of the evilpenguin compression there is only the global settings in the perl2dvd.advanced.pref, so there's no point me showing options that aren't valid for the compression that you're using.

Evilpenguin is planning to make all his options available on a per compress basis in his next version. When he does that, I'll make them available in the panel.

... and now you've got me thinking. I could probably do a bit of a rewrite and not rely on the the evilpenguin settings. I'll put in on the things to do list

It looks OK on mine. See below.

Can you try loading on the base Default STV with no other imports.

Hi nyplayer, I've attached a test version to the first post that lets you use the wait for comskip when using evilpenguin compression. Let me know how it goes.

Just a reminder, you'll need to restart the UI after loading the import, so it will pick up the new process chain.

John

Oops, doesn't work. Updated the download

Just out of curiosity, are you trying to make it so they can configure my script not to wait for a comskip file but still selectively wait for a comskip file from within the STV?

evilpenguin,

What I wanted to be able to do was. Set your script not to wait for EDL. Then I want to setup only certain Favorites... by using the autocompress plugin to wait for comskip.

I've just changed the backend process so that it can wait for a comskip file only on specific favorites, when it's using either the default compression or the evilpenquin compression.

I had already made a change to the original SageMC version of the process so that I could do wait for comskip on default compression. I just move that up the tree, so it did the comskip check before the check for what compression type.

As long as the perl2dvd.advanced.pref is set to not wait for comskip files then the auto compress process can handle the comskip wait for specific favorites or channels.

John,

I see a problem with your test STV. When I setup a favorite to compress then I go back into the favorites options to check it says autocompress "NO".

Sorry, that was the problem with the first one I uploaded. The one there now is working for me.

You were just too fast on the download. The broken one was only up for about 5 minutes.

There is definitely a problem. If I setup a favorite to Wait for Comskip "NO" when I go back into it it says wait for comskip "YES"

This is the kind of plugin I've been waiting for. I don't use SageMC so this is perfect. I only have one concern: Does the compression script remove commercials from the AVI or does it only use the skip points in the edl for playback?

The reason I ask is because I have an Archos PMP that I use for playback of AVI files. Obviously the edl files are meaningless to the Archos. This is why I created the script posted elsewhere to physically remove commercials from the AVI.

If evilpenguin's memcoder script doesn't do that then is there a way to configure this to use my script instead?
