Yes the DVICO app finds about 70 analog and 20 Unencrypted 256QAM stations.

I just picked an AVermedia 180 that is supposed to support QAM. Will your app support that

You will need to download the A180 version of the ISO image for it

I can get to it today. I believe Venturality is the company behind EVO4tv.com.

OK. I haven't used SageTV in a very long time so that may be part of the reason I am confused:

1) Does this software/hardware solution work seemlessly with SageTV (i.e. integrates QAM channels with whatever channels I already have in the program guide, allows me to watch and/or record any of these QAM channels and still have access to my analog tuners)?

2) Is there any difference in any of the supported QAM cards as far as use with the software, picture quality, or sound formats available (i.e. do some have DD sound and others maybe not)?

3) Is this product dead in the water? Have there been issues that keep people from using it that have yet to be resolved with the "supported" cards?

4) Is multi-tuner support per PC soon or not in the foreseeable future?

Thanks for any answers! I really want recordable network TV in HD and want it seemless integrated. I hope this is the answer.

[QUOTE=debennett2;213022]OK. I haven't used SageTV in a very long time so that may be part of the reason I am confused:

Hi,
I've been using EVO for a few months now and it works great. I only use it for my QAM channels, i.e. in channel setup I dis-able all the channels I get OTA since I only have one tuner for EVO (A-180). I have 2 other A-180's for OTA, regular network channels (ABC,NBC,FOX,etc.). So I use EVO for Disc.HD,HDNet,HDnet Movies, etc.
It does not interfere with my EPG channel guide but rather just adds to it the QAM channels.

Randy

$45 seems like a lot of money for a pre-beta plugin full of bugs, and with no formal documentation to aid new users. They don't give updates on their progress in making multiple tuners supported, or what other tuners are going to be available. I would get this program if the M780 works with it of course I also need multiple tuner support with the software as well.

Does this $45 cover my all of my HTPCs? or is that for each PC I install it on? I have 2 systems with the M780 in them so I would love to get the QAM working. I get about 13 Clear QAM stations right now through my LCD QAM Tuner. Of course I have no idea how many would come in using this software because it doesn't support the card, and they really don't document exactly what thier plans are or if they have an open beta program.

Just my thoughts, sorry for sounding rude.

I can't add the tuner

I've got the the EVO appliance running on an old machine and I was able to capture video and find 5 HD channels by running the EVO console from my sage server.

Then I used the EVO console to map them to the ComCast channels. I used the EVO console to update the sage configuration (while sage was shut down). I used the EVO console to start the sage encoder and it seems to start fine.

When I start sage, and go to add a new source I only see the 3 that were already there (3 hauppage cards, 1 350 and 2 250). I expected to see a new option there but I don't.

Am I doing something wrong? Any help would be appreciated.

My sage properties file has an EVO section added by the console. It looks like this:

Exclamation Announcement!!!

Everyone - we will be making this software free and maybe open source. The company has decided to change product directions for the time being. However, we will continue to host our site and forums.

All current installations should not require purchases now - they should be full functioning versions.

Please PM me if there is any interest from developers to help continue to extend a good base framework for this technology.

We will try to release updates in the future weeks as time permits.

ALSO - those of you that have purchased the software will recieve a full refund of your purchase price.

Thank you,

The Venturality Team.

Try changing 4099014584 to 4099014500 (or something completely different). We have had a few issues of encoder ID confusion in Sage.

Still no new source

Stealth1971,

Thanks for the reply. I tried that but I still don't see the a new source.

I'm afraid I must be doing something wrong as I've not see any others with this problem.

On my sage server i'm running the evo console, and then starting the sagetv encoder from it. I appears to start correctly. Then I go into the sage setup and choose setup video sources, then I choose add new source. I expected to see a new source there. is that correct or am I missing something?

appreciate your help!

Are you running Sage as a service? You need restart the Sage service after update the properties file.

I'm not running sage as a service. Sage just starts when windows starts as a normal application.

Is there something that I have to enable or install to allow a network encoder to work at all?

I've tried this both with 6.0.19 (my original configuration when I tried this). After that didn't work, I thought I would try it on 6.1.4 so I've done that now as well. I've not imported any STVi into 6.1.4 and it didn't work on that either.

I've checked task manager to make sure that sage is not running, before I launch the EVO console, so I know that sage is not running when I start the sage encoder from EVO.

My machine is a fairly plain Windows XP SP2 box. Any ideas?
