See previous post - we want to resolve this, but dealing with various hardware scenarios can be problematic! Can you give any specifics about your card? even the chip #s from the Conexant chip on the front side...

I started the EVO Console and toggled the "on" position. Once I competed this I ran the "EVO Console (AutoStart)" and rebooted the PC. After several attempts and different settings I am still unable to get the SageTV Encoders to start prior to SageTV loading up. Has anyone else had similar issues or could explain to me the order in which I should have done things? I may just be missing something small or you could just tell me to go back to my VCR.

Thanks,

The order events when you want to run as a service should be:

1. From the console toggle on the Sage dependency.
2. Then start your Sage Service
3. Check that the Evo Services service entry is started
4. Start using!

You can read the log.txt file in the installation folder to read the service startup log.

The EVO (Auto start) shortcut is if you do NOT want to use the service but you want the app to start all of the encoders when the console is launched (I think this is mention in the instructions - if not let me know and we will add it)

The model (based on the printing on the back of the card) that we have on loan is "Fusion HDTV5 Lite" Rev 1.0.
Sorry, I may have jumped in to the thread at a point where the Lite card was being discussed, but I am running FusionHDTV5 RT Gold card - its a revision 1 board. The Conexant broadcast decoder chip is stamped
CX23882-39
52003559
0536 Korea.

The PC is a PIII 864Mhz with 640MB RAM.

System did boot and the EVO Console did connect to the Skeleton PC... I could see on the Skeleton PC's console that it did recieve the scan channel command, and that it complete in 0 minutes...

Question

Hi All,
Is it possible to RE-scan for channels without losing all previous channel mapping? My cable co. just added a few channels but I wish I could rescan and preserve those channels previoulsy mapped.

Yep - in my personal setup I had Comcast change the lineup for the Superbowl.

In the next release, we will probably have the service/app do a nightly scan and send reports of channel lineup changes?

Yes/No?

Hi Stealth,

Any ideas on when this software will be able to support multiple tuners per PC? Until it can support at least two, I have a hard time justifying the price. I do admit that it's really cool though that this can be done - I just don't gain much from it with the current status of my local cable company - they encrypt everything exept local channels, and even at this point, they're only carrying CBS, PBS and NBC.. lol. I get more stations OTA.. really sad.... then again, that has nothing to do with your product.

Edit: One thing to add - I may have more interest in this if it could handle multiple tuners, some using QAM and some using ATSC - it would let me increase the number of tuners I am using.. that would be cool

Poor Scan results from Fushion Light

I just downloaded and installed the EVO App and was able to succesfuly connect everything and scan for channels. The problem is I get hundereds of channels listed but only one or two will actualy play in the EVO app when I drag and drop. On the other hand The Fushion app will play dozens of channels. I beileve that its a 64/256 QAM issue but Fushion records all my channesl as 256 QAM.
In reading through all the previous threads it appears that this may be an issue for others too. At this time I dont think this is going to be a good solution for me. I am having a hard time justifying the cost of this software solution that requires maintaining another PC on the network compared to the HD Homerun which has dual tuners and works for both ATSC and QAM. For those that already have supported QAM cards and a spare PC lying around it might make sense but if you want dual tuners and have to purchase another card to do it it will be a wash by the time you pay for the software, especialy if the price actualy goes up after Feb 28.
Anyways I hope that there is some sort for fix in the works for Channel scanning with with the Fushion Light cards (non RT).
Dave

Tried it out on my A180

Installed Evo4TV on a PIII-833 tonight. My cable provider is Cox and i have digital cable.

I was only able to pick up 4 channels:

Fox, PBS, CBS, & ABC.

Are these results typical? I was sorta hoping to get the rest of my HD channels? UHD, Discovery HD, INHD, etc... Am I supposed to only pick up network channels? Because these are the same channels I pickup OTA.

I know they're not encrypted channels because I can view them over firewire.

Maybe Cox just sucks?

You get those channels over firewire because the cable box has authorization to view them. EVO will only get channels that are in the clear, typically network channels and a handful of others.

Is this Product still being actively developed.

I am kind wondering if EVO is actively being developed. I check out there forums and there is very little activity on it. I see an occaisional post here but have never gotten a response to my earleir post. I posted a question to there support a few days ago and have not yet recieved any response. Makes me kinda think that there has been less than expected demand for this type of solution. I am probably going to just pony up and get an HD Homerun pretty soon so I can get QAM and maybe use my Divco Fushion Lite for OTA as a back up.

hmm...first off. This is a great product, but it is software. It is also reliant on general knowledge of the hardware and codec configurations. It is the only solution of its type and I very much appreciate the fact that I can tune QAM with my existing QAM card perfectly.

The complication on mapping channels to frequencies will be no easier. No matter what solution you use.

If you dont own a QAM card, by all means buy a HDHomerun if you want to. I probably would. But for owners of existing QAM capable cards, choosing this solution is a no-brainer to me.

It took how many days for Stealth to add fusion light support?? Give the guy a break...

I.

All -

We are still planning on releasing updates in the near future. The time line has not been what we wanted, but with most new software ventures priorities sometime shift.

Thanks -

meh, I give up... The way sage tv handles channel lineups from duplicate program guides sucks, which makes it very annoying to setup HDTV content.

Plus, I have trouble with EVO4TV consistantly pulling up channels... It'll pull up a channel fine, then if I change the channel suddenly sage will just go "no signal" or better yet all of sage will freeze.... After having spent so many hours on it, I just want to smash my box and get an hd tivo... I want all that time back................ sorry.

Does it finish the channel scan it right away or does it take a few minutes?

The best way to find all of your channels.

The "Get Video Clips" feature under the device menu is currently the best way to get content from each of your channels as you try determine which ones are available.

The channel drag & drop feature has some issues that we may resolve in future versions, but we are also considering removing the feature all together and only provide the "Get Video Clips".

No price increase!

FYI - The price is going to stay @ $44.99 for the next few months.

Which method were you using to try to find your channels? "Get Video Clips" from the device menu or "Drap & Drop" the channel from the channel list?
