As far as I know, its not possible.

Sounds like you'd like the option to set auto delete when scheduling the manual recording instead of having to change it after it is recorded.
No, I just don't want a Favorite to become a manual recording after resolving a Favorites conflict.

Highlight a show and click ok. Then click on Record Options. If it is a manual recording you can select remove manual recording status. I'm pretty sure this allows Sage to delete the show when space is needed. If you have a favorite that is set to normally auto delete and don't want Sage to delete a specific episode click on Record Options and select add manual recording status and it won't be deleted.

I'm not 100% certain removing the manual status will allow Sage to auto delete the show because I rarely let Sage delete anything, but since marking it as a manual recording will prevent deletion it would make sense that removing it would allow deletion.

I understand, but personally if a particular episode of a favorite is important enough for me to overide my normal priorities I wouldn't want Sage having the ability to delete it. I would rather it delete something else that is of less importance. Either way you'd need to be able to turn it off for all shows or on a show by show basis when you setup the recording.

Manually resolving a recording conflict is similar to scheduling a regular manual recording in that you're forcing Sage to overide the priority settings of your favorites. I would imagine simply setting it to be treated as a manual recording was an easier solution than trying to come up with a seperate way of handling the overide.

We are talking about two different things here, before and after. I want to set it to AUTO DELETE when it is scheduled or before it is recording, not editing its manual/fav status after it has been recorded. What's the difference? Its less user interactions, meaning less work for me if I just set it up the way I want it in the first place and not have to go back to each manual recording and changing it to a favorite after it is recorded. It is not an AUTOMATION process if I have to manually edit each shows after they are recorded.

As for the Favorites becoming manual recordings after resolving a conflict, this is just a lazy way of resolving the conflict. It needs to be coded better or more intelligently. I think the correct way to do this is NOT make it a manual recording, but instead just TEMPORARY move the priority of that SINGLE show above or below other shows that it's conflicting with. Of course, an option to move ALL shows should also be available, which will change the priority order of that show in the Favorites Manager.

+1

No one is suggesting that the user shouldn't be able to control whether Sage auto deletes manual recordings by default. The point is users should be able to control the default behavior (and, FWIW, the UI nomenclature on this is non-intuitive, i.e., one needs to be educated before understanding that "manual recording status" = "don't erase until I say so").

I thought you were talking about changing them after the fact. As for changing it when scheduling the recording I totally agree and mentioned needing something like that above.
