Config files look right. I'm actually running 1.6.0_10, a test version of java and always uninstall the old verison first. My Sage TV service and Com Skip monitor log in as a different user than what I use to sometimes run Sage on the server. But I just run the service on the server, usually not the UI. But that user has a password and admin rights on that box and other network shares.

Well it's not v1.6 issue, that seems to work just fine.

Code:
#csm.properties
#Thu Jan 24 12:57:01 CST 2008
time.between.checks=1
comskip.config=E\:\\ComskipMonitor\\comskip79_76\\comskip.ini
process.file.extensions=.mpg, .mpeg
execute.during.record=yes
slow.hours=
related.file.extensions=.avi
comskip.parameters=
exclude.hours=
file.directories=E\:\\TV
cleanup.file.extensions=.txt,.log,.edl, .csv
comskip.location=E\:\\ComskipMonitor\\comskip79_76\\comskip.exe
That is working, and it's using the System account. Noticed I used local drive letters and relocated Commskip.exe to the same drive. I think it may be that mapping the root of drives is less then desirable? Either way I am thrilled again!

My experience here is that there is probably something wrong with your .properties file(s). I recently had this problem and had to delete the .properties file for my extender.

Yep. It works pretty good with the version it comes with also (76 I think). I used 99 for a real long time as was very happy with the results. Using 113 now myself.

Hi there - is there any way to tell when comskip is running? I installed Comskip Monitor in Vista and it's hard to tell when the service is running and when comskip is running other than seeing random files being created in my recordings folder. Also, is there a way to have comskip only generate edl files and not .log and .txt files for every recording?

Look in Task Manager under Processes. You should see comskip.exe in there when it is running.

Yeah that was the first thing that I did but the odd thing is that I don't see any mention of comskip.exe even though I definitely know it's running. I do see the CSM service is running so at least that's a start. A neat improvement to this would be to add a page to the web server that shows the status of comskip and what videos comskip is currently processing. Is that possible to add?

Edit your comskip.ini (sits in same folder as comskip.exe) so that it contains the following:
output_default=0
output_edl=1

I had to add 'output_default=0' to my file and change output_edl from a value of 0 to 1.

'output_default=0' turns off creation of the .txt file
'output_edl=1' causes the .edl file to be created

I don't know how to prevent creation of the .log file. I wish I could.

verbose=0
to get rid of the .log files

Awesome... thanks guys. Any chance the 'output_default' setting can be added to the ini in future comskip releases? Since I update my comskip so often I'd hate to have to add it in every time

Normally you do NOT need to change your ini file when you move to a new comskip build.
Like stated in the previous post, only update comskip.exe

This would be great! There are many options that are available that are not in the .ini file. Having them all there, but disabled whenever not needed, would be a big help!

Bummer, I was just there last night, and it worked fine. Guess the ISP bill didn't get paid.

I'll put it up on my server for a few days, until that gets sorted out.

...Okay, kaashoek.com is back up, so it's not on my server any longer.

I see it's back up now. I was actually trying to see if 114 was out yet. I already have 113 installed.

Curious on how the monitor works if 2 TV shows finish recording at the same time. If comskip monitor runs at that point, does it process both shows simultaneously, or does it only process one at a time?

Also, is there a way to specify the maximum CPU to use when comskip is running (ShowAnalyzer has a setting like this)?
