It does make sense though.
What is strange is both of my machines have the same problem, one with a 7800GT and the other a 6600GT. Both of these cards are gaming cards and both are over clocked by the companies. Both eVGA and BFG over clock their video cards. I wonder if this over clocking, which works fine with gaming, has something to do causing problems with the NVIDIA® CineFX™ 4.0 Engine portion of the chips. I think I will try underclocking my 7800GT to the Nvidia reference speeds and see what happens. -Polen

Under clocking had no effect.

It appears on my desktop and everywhere else, not just fullscreen video. It looks like something you'd see if your graphics card was overclocked and unstable.

You might try underclocking your video card. When I first got my eVGA 7800GT CO, I would see black triangles sometimes when playing game. I underclocked it and they went away. I called eVGA and told them and they replaced it.

Its on board 6150, I don't think I can underclock it. Also it only happens using the 80s series drivers not the 90s, can it really be the chip that's messed up?

Humm, I'm not sure if nTune will allow you to adjust your GPU speed, have you tried to with nTune?

No I haven't. I looked at nTune, but I don't think it supported the 6150. I'll look again. I'm just not sure that is the problem, since it doesn't happen in the latest drivers.

I have that same stuck frame/grid thing on my 6150 with the 90 series drivers. I went back to the 82 drivers and I haven't noticed it lately.
There is another thread on this topic somewhere. |

The drivers I'm using now are 82.05. I'm not sure how to tell which version of PureVideo I'm using.

Some issues with those drivers and a 6150:
http://forums.freytechnologies.com/f...ad.php?t=19140 http://forums.freytechnologies.com/f...t=19050&page=2 Basically, 6150 + SageTV + VMR9 + nVidia Drivers 9x.xx = boxy chunks of evil. EDIT: I just posted some more in depth findings on the 6150 and 9x.xx issue: http://forums.freytechnologies.com/f...9&postcount=26 Last edited by IncredibleHat; 09-23-2006 at 09:59 AM. |

I found this on the web. You can Enable more property setting for the PureVid decoder.
Under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\NVIDIA Corporation\Filters\Video Add the following new dword EnablePropPage = 1 I attached a view of my Statistics property. -Polen
