Looks like the 42" with 1080p is gone, replaced with a 780p version...

Keep it awhile...

If you wait until 'Black Friday', you can get a 42" for less than $1K...

Sounds worth looking into, but how significant a change would it be to go from a 27" tube TV to a 32" LCD? Seems like a jump to 42" would be better. And yes, the 42" obviously costs more (3xmore in this case) would a 32" really be worth the change?

Also, do you have a CC link to this TV?

If your going from a 27" 4:3 "old fashioned" TV, then yeah going to a 32" LCD would be worth it (assuming your going to get some HDTV content, or even widescreen DVD's).

Im thinking about the 32"er for a bedroom tv. Hell for $100 more the 37 is a great deal.

CC is apparently going to be selling a 52" Panasonic PT-52LCX66 LCD RPTV for $999 - that has me salavating now! Such a toss up - 42" Westinghouse Flat Panel LCD HD MONITOR for $999 or that Panny HDTV w/ ATSC tuner for the same price!

At least you have a choice there in the USA. I was thinking of making the 2 hour drive to Buffalo but decided not to because what if I come back empty handed.

4 hours wasted.

Yeah that would be some horrible trip

On the other hand to get a LOT of these discounts that are only good from 5am-11am you have to get to the store at around 1am and just wait on line for them to open up! At least in the part of NY where I live anyhow.

Jason, does the "flyer" I assume you are looking at have the 32 inch Visio pricing for black friday?

Does anybody know what the best time to buy a tv at Costco is? black friday or closer to christmas time? In other words, when do they have the lowest pricing...

Black Friday has historically been the best sales day of the year for all the big retail chains. I would expect their prices to be the best on Black Friday. If somehow they fall short of their sales expectations they could however lower the prices around christmas time. The likelyhood of this happening for HDTVs though probably not very high.

Nope... None of the flyers have exact pricing... only the actual discount.

Oh... BTW the 42" Vizio is not 1080p but rather 1080i... my bad.

OK, I found a link to a Black Friday Best Buy ad that shows the Westinghouse W4207 for a Black Friday pricing of $999 (regularly $1499). It's a 720p HD monitor. No, it's not 1080p, but it still looks sweet.

For $1199 Circuit City will have a Sony 40" Flat Panel LCD on sale for Black Friday. It's not advertised in their BF flyer, but they have it listed on their website as an unadvertised deal.

Went to Best Buy at 3:00am this morning, and promptly drove home after seeing at least 300 people in line. Probably 10 or so tents set up since the afternoon before. Simply wasn't worth it. I Never thought that Anderson, SC would have so many die-hard deal-crazed shoppers!

So, I went home, went back to sleep, woke up around 8:00am, and decided to stop by Best buy again "just for fun". The place was really packed with long, LONG lines. I went up to a BB guy working in the TV department and asked him if there happened to be any more of the W4207's left. He said they had about 5 left!!! He pointed me to shop at the back of the store $where they install car audio stuff, and he said to check out there. There was one person in front of me in line, and I got the W4207 for $999! Oh, and South Carolina declared today and tomorrow as "tax-free" days, so it was really $999 out-the-door.

Now, to tweak and play to get things looking good. Currently, I'm using a VGA connection. I may try a DVI connection in the future. I'll report back here as to the quality.
