Make sure the newWealth attribute is in scope. It will be visible only from lineal descendents of the menu or panel it's directly attached to (unless you've done something like GetFocusContext). See p. 47 of the Studi manual for detailed scoping rules.

No the attribute was in scope. I checked back over the debug logs and found a OutOfContext fault from the Java code. I went back over and made some code changes and now things are running smooth. I am slowly adding capability and double checking everything
