V6 and ISO playback

I followed the instructions but am having some problems.

First I can not get the .iso to show up in the imported videos. I can choose to find and play an individual file and select the .iso file. It starts to play but it starts playing the behind the scenes from the start and gives me no menu to choose what I want to play. If I manually mount the .iso then it plays just like a normal DVD except the sound is about half a second behind the video.

I can not find the setting to choose an external player for DVD in the SageTV setup. I'll keep looking for this.

All I have for now but I am still working.

It should be in the Setup -> detailed setup -> customize -> JB External Player Options.
Right above the Unsuported extras in my config.. but I'm still 5.X

That option doesn't appear when using SageMC 6.3.3c and SageTV v6.

Too bad!! This would be great.

This sounds like a really cool program. Are there any plans to support sage v6 or to publish the source code? I'm using v6.2.6 and tried this addon but can't get it to work. I can see the .iso files but they won't mount. I can mount an iso file with daemon tools fine from a dos command line but sage never appears to attempt the mount (the sage debug file doesn't give an indication of a mount attempt).

I'm still using my xbox to mount and play ISOs but it would be cool if I could get this to work in Sage instead

There really is no source code to speak of.

I do plan to support V6... When I upgrade to it. At this time I see no reason to do so... Maybe when I have some free time I'll play with it.. But considering we're going to be moving sometime in the next couple of months, it doesn't look promising to get it done any time soon.. Sorry...

If and when you update this program for V6, I was wondering if you could make a small modification that would allow me to use this to drive a Sony XL1B2 DVD changer?

If you could make it handle .bat files in such a manner that it executed the contents of the .bat file, and then would run the ISOPlayer.bat I would be able to make my changer work.

In a generalized overview, I've got a program (mediachanger.exe) that accepts two arguments, a command (load, unload, eject, drivestatus, etc) and a slot number. The changer shows up as a drive letter so as long as I load a DVD it works like any other drive.

If your program were able to see TopGun.bat in the video imports and run it, I could have the contents be mediachanger.exe load n where n is the slot Top Gun resides in.

If you could do that it would be greatly appreciated! If not, I think I know how I can patch around it in the ImageMount.cmd but I'd rather not do that. Whole bunch of string processing garbage...

Does this plug-in work on Sage v4?
I tried to install it and import the stvi but none of the stvi changes
appeared in my sagetv3-*.xml file so I'm assuming the stvi is for a later
version of sage (like v5). Is this correct?
thanks
-Doug

This was written for V5. I doubt it will work with V4...

Sorry,

Bummer.
Do you know where the documentation is for creating a new media player
plugin or what the default one is called?
Seems like it shouldn't be too hard to subclass the default one
so that it calls your *.cmd files before it tries to load/play it.

The upgrade to V5 was a free upgrade and can be found here.

I'm a little confused, is this supposed to be able to play MDS/MDF files? Or can you just rename them to .ISO and it will pick them up?

After dusting off the cobwebs.. DAEMON will use the MDS file to load the ISO. it doesn't actually load the mds.. It just grabs the .iso with the same name...

I downloading something that came with a .mdf file and a .mds file. Mounts in Daemon tools ok but doens't seem to play in Sage. all the ISOs work great though.

Spoke too soon, I thought it was working with ISOs but in fact it just plays the opening menu like it was a stand alone video and at the end of the loop it crashes. going to try an external DVD player, hopefully that will work. Tried removing the paser lines from the properties, no luck. I can expand the ISOs with win rar and sage plays it like a DVD, with this STV however it only seems to pick up the main menu video loop and gives no DVD options.

Not anytime soon.. When I move to the new house (now looks like April.)
I'll probably build a new HTPC. That's when I'll switch to V6 and update my plugins if necessary...

Sorry
