You mean in the info section?? Or in the OSD while playing??

IF in the Info section.. Then I believe that it's expected.
If you're using my parser.. It just inserts a dummy value for the duration. That was, I believe, the big delay in Sage's parser for some iso's. It would walk the file to try and determine the duration. So I just insert a dummy value. If you really want a real value in there then you can use the detailed info import. That import will allow you to
use IMDB to fill in information (if IMBD has it...) for imported videos...

No, this is on the OSD. So i can fast forward or rewind as it thinks it is so short.

Is this a DVD image ISO?
Do the menus work?
After it's mounted.. can you play it with some other player?
If you burn the ISO to a DVD, does it play in Sage?

If it's the OSD... Then my plugin stops at mounting the image and it's probably a sage thing..

No Menus....I rip just the movie.

I will try playing around with it. See if i can come to some more definite conclusions.

5. You also need to add the parser to the list of parsers.

mediafile_metadata_parser_plugins=SageISO.Parser

6. List the iso type you want the SageISO parser to parse in this property:

SageISO/parser/file_types=iso

I don't understand #5 and 6 where is the sage parser and/or parser list located? I cannot find it anywhere, or are these simply lines that I'm supposed to paste into the properties file?

I don't understand "PowerDVD for the Z:", Is this where you have powerdvd installed?

thanks in advance

Yes.. Just paste the lines in.. You might have 5.. But 6 will be a new line.

Z: is my Physical DVD drive. The difference between the two commands is which drive to play.. The Dameon tools one or the physical one. Does that make sense?

I keep getting a program error "sagetranscoder.exe has encountered an error and needs to close"

This is before and after I copied the "new" lines into the properties file (with the sagetv server shut down completely)

why is this?

BTW I get the above error only when I go to the import videos menu and "browse" to a page where an iso file is displayed

for instance, I go to the imported videos menu and page down to see "Black Dahlia" and the above error pops up.

any suggestions?

It's probably something to do with V6. I have not yet looked at V6 yet so I'm not suprised it doesn't work "out of the box"

I do plan to switch sometime this month or next. Then I'll work more on this plugin...

Sorry I can't be more help right now..

Jim

OOPS!

I thought it was "v6 ready", no worries, I have (some) patience

I'll try to look into it a bit more and post back if I find something...

I tried the instructions with V6 and I can get to the point where the .iso is being mounted (still seeing a delay), but the SageTVclient crashes after 5 to 10 seconds of playback. So, it's close or it works but I don't know what I'm doing.

A manually mounted .iso will play on the Sage Server. An unmounted iso will mount and start to play (after some delay), but will then crash the client. Same as what occurs on a pure client. The server does not crash.

Still experimenting...

I'm having the same issues as MarkV. Just downloaded SageTV to try out and use with DVD isos.

I can run all of the cmd file commands manually and play a DVD using Nero Showtime. However, Sage either crashes or plays audio and garbled video for a few seconds when I try to play an ISO file from the Imported Videos section. I'm wondering if it is the preview settings (where it picks a screen 5 seconds in as the icon) or something. Taking the external commands out one at a time gives different errors, so I think it can find them, just won't run right quite yet.

MarkV - did you have any luck?

I'm wondering if I should try to get an earlier version to try out...

I tried on v6 and have some issues. I hope this helps you when you work on the v6 version.

Play DVD function (both internal and external players) works well. However, issues with iso images. When I select the iso image from the imported video list, the Sage brings up a play window, but nothing happens and the progress bar at the bottom does not move. It seems that the iso image does not get mounted by the iSTV. When I manually mount the iso image, the "Play DVD" function played without any issues (both internal and external players).

I don't know much about programming, but it seesms as the iSTV has an issue with the sending a mount image command under version 6.

I hope this helps.

Thank you for a great work.

One more thing. The Play DVD command does not unmount iso images either. Probably for the same reason as not-mounting the image.

I noticed this too when you use the dynamic main menus..
It works fine if you don't neilm's menus.

I plan to fix this as well when I start working on the V6 version...

I may actually fix that first before the V6 version. Right now I'm in no hurry to switch to V6...

I haven't had any luck since my original attempts. I actually started mucking with the command files to see if I could convince them to work, but being a noob, didn't accomplish much.

If I'm running this on the machine that is the server and am local to the server, it seems to work. If I try this from the client, I thought I got a few seconds of video, but it looks like it's actually something that is being generated when the player can't find the iso. Then sageclient crashes.

Would love to have a way to do this as I really prefer .iso's for the cleanliness factor.

Mark

Send a message via ICQ to valnar
Does anyone know if this or any other plugin allows the MediaMVP to play DVD ISO's?
