Just in case there is another issue with the download plugin & certain browsers, make sure you are trying to download the file using IE rather than another browser. (There are issues using Firefox for uploading, so maybe...)

Certain shows and channels don't process well (or they are from premium channels without commercials) so I end up disabling it. Then I forget to turn it back on. This isn't really a problem for me, but the other members of the household don't know (or really want to know) what to do.
If you ever get interested in trying SageMC, this functionality is already in there ...

I have less than zero interest in windows MC. I'm assuming that Sage MC is only for windows MC, or should I do some reading?

You better do some reading ...

No, seriously, has nothing to do with Windows MCE, SageMC is simply another custom STV for SageTV with a different look&feel and lots of added functionality. Have a look at this thread to get more info.

If you have any other questions please follow up in the SageMC thread.

Dirk

So, does this new plugin work with .ts files? I have modified my install (using the old plugin) to work with them, but it is hardly the most efficient way of doing it, i'm sure.

It might be hosted on the community wiki, which seems to be down today. You could try PM'ing the author to request a copy of the plugin.

Aloha,
Mike

You might also try a different browser. Seems like someone else was having problems not long ago and it turned out to be their browser.

There seems to have been a strange character in the filename... the download should work now.

I have a request for this STVi.

How about an option in the recording's "Options" menu to re-comskip a show, and when you click this option it deletes any associated .edl, .txt, .vprj, etc. file so that SA or Comskip will run again against that particular show.

Currently I have to do this manually if SA did not process a show right.

Cool Correct download link

The link doesn't work for me either. When I click on it, this appears in Firefox's address bar:
...forums.sagetv.com/forums/downloads/sundansx--%09comskip-playback-plugin-w-edl-support-ver-11.zip

In order to download this, just erase the "%09" so the link reads:
...sagetv.com/forums/downloads/sundansx--comskip-playback-plugin-w-edl-support-ver-11.zip

That worked for me.

Or click here --> http://forums.sagetv.com/forums/down...ort-ver-11.zip

I've been having problems with this turning itself off. Stopping skipping even though it's enabled -- until I turn it off and turn it back on.
I've narrowed the problem (I think).
It only seems to turn itself off if the time bar at the bottom of the screen is displayed when (or very close to the time?) it's supposed to skip.

Cool Get "Failed" message but works FINE

Hi,
Just got comskip working on my client pc finally but after it processes a file it gives a message that it FAILED. Yet, it does work great. I see the breaks in the timeline and it skips commercials.
Ironically, when I first tried this a week or so ago it gave a "completed successfully" message but would NOT work on my client (UNC problem). In the meantime I had re-installed Sage completely and had to re-install comskip. Don't know what I did differently this time??
Also, I read last time and can not find thru the entire thread how to disable .txt files from being made. (output_.txt=??)

Thanks, Randy

Congratulations Sundansx!

Wheelrandolph, I'm not sure why you get the "FAILED" message, but to disable .txt creation you need to manually add "default_output=0" to the comskip.ini. More info on Comskip can be found here http://forums.sagetv.com/forums/showthread.php?t=16237 or here http://mk.kaashoek.com/comskip/
