seems to be ok here, but i think i'll drop the STVi on the next shutdown now that it's included in the default. the 2 settings don't seem to be interfering with each other at least.

Hello,
I am using the current demo of SageTV (on the verge to switch from VMC to it!) and I cannot find this record padding option. How can I set my SageTV to start recording few minutes before the shows and to stop recording few minutes after the shows? Thanks!

You need to go to Setup, Help, System Information. Then type the numbers 5309 (I think that's it) to get the Unsupported Extras enabled. You should see a small blue dot in the upper left of the window indicating they're enabled.
I think Record Padding is now built into the default STV. If you go to Setup, Detailed Setup, Customize... near the bottom is Default Favorite Settings and Default Manual Settings. Those should pull up what you require.
