Correct, if you are using a PC as a client you are most likely using SageTVClient, and that is licensed per computer, and is not interchangible with the Media Extender/Placeshifter license.

If you can hardwire the client, that is always the best solution qualitywise. If you have a poor bandwidth connection over the bridge, then the Placeshifter may be a acceptable solution, since it will decrease the picture quality to match the bandwidth. The picture quality may be degraded, but the choppyness will be reduced. Unfortunatly, the placeshifter doesn't intergrate with remotes as easily as the normal Client does.
