i think you are thinking of .IR files for other setups. But if you just learned commands in the Sage gui through the USB UIRT, they will be in the props file.

Do you mean change from the SageMC_169.xml back to SageTV3.xml and then back again?

Here's a good one... I just scheduled Sage to record US Open tennis on Universal HD tonight, and viewing the info, up pops cover art! Wow! Impressive huh? Problem is its for Walt Disney's: The computer wore tennis shoes!

Thanks Kirby. Looks reasonable. I can just copy and paste that then from my backup of the properties file. Then I won't have to do that all over again.

A .IR file would be used if the IR codes were learned for the purpose of controlling an STB using the USB-UIRT as a blaster. The IR codes in the properties file are for remote control of SageTV itself.

Heres another good one ... when viewing info for the children's cartoon Arthur, the art that shows up is for the movie Arthur, complete with Dudley Moore lounging around in a bathtub!

I can hardly wait for a time when the IMDB search returns a porn cover for something non-porn related!

2.5 hours and 2 minutes later, and I'm finally back to where I was when I started.

And I now get IMDB Coverart for my TV shows now!

Thanks for all the help guys. Now I have a nice clean install of SageTV.

Now, watch, 5.1 will be out tomorrow...

Good to hear it.
I have gone back and actually disabled the automatic IMDB for now. I was getting sooo many wrong covers, it was going to confuse the wife for sure.

Hi Everyone,

Just a heads up. The initial test release of the new genre icons is now avaiable for download here in case anyone is interested.

Aloha,

beginner trouble

I'm trying to edit sage.properties according to ml_dudes instruction for SageMC so I can import my DVD profiler collection but whenever I make edits and save then go into Sage they get deleted fron the sage.property file.

Here are the instructions I'm trying to do:

In order for SageMC to import meta-data from DVD Profiler there are a few things that must be configured.

Export your collection to XML to a location that is accessible via UNC or local drive letters for any of the PC that will import meta-data. Only PC's that are importing need to be able to access the collection XML. PC's that are just viewing meta-data via SageMC do not need be able to read from the collection XML.
Close SageTV to edit the properties file. Open the correct properties file - sage.properties for SageTV not running in service mode, and sageclient.properties for SageTV running in service mode.
Edit or add the following properties:

Required:

mlbdude/meta_data_collection.xml= This is the path to the collection XML from DVD Profiler. Make sure you have all the backslashes correct. Here is mine as an example: "mlbdude/meta_data_collection.xml=D:\Program Files\SageTV\SageTV\STVs\SageTV3\SageMCE\collection.xml".
Optional:
mlbdude/DVDProfiler_Root= This is used to point to your DVD Profiler installation. If this is NOT set auto thumbnail image importing will not work. Here is mine as an example: "mlbdude/DVDProfiler_Root=D:\Program Files\InterVocative Software\DVD Profiler

I have read almost all info on SageMC but find the configuring very confusing thus far. I also would like to put a "My Movies"main menu option in the main start menu, not sure how to do this either??? And I would like to import my movie folders on my hard drives. They are configured by each movie having it's own directory.

example:E:\Media\Movies\A History of Violence\then in tis folder are the VOB's, IFO's ect...

This is the way I had it set up in Meedio. If this isn't possible then I just wasted $80 bucks. From what I had read I thought Sage woud be the best for me now that Meedio is not supported very well anymore. Any help or direction would be appreciated.

Posted before, but still can't figure it out.

Was wondering if sageMC has an option for disk usage on the main menu. Other users suggested i push the "info" button on the main menu, but that doesn't do anything for me.. Also it was stated that there are config settings under the sage 16x9 options, but there really is nothing in there.

Am i missing something?

Sounds like you are not using flachbar's latest build. Go to the first post and follow the link to the download. Once installed make sure you select the .xml file as the stv and not the .stv file, which is the old version. Browse back thru the posts to see how you can tell what version of SageMC you are using.

jds23 mentioned how to get the settings to stick.

Set your E:\Media\Movies as a Library Import. That should allow you to play your ripped DVDs. These will show up in "My Videos." You could make a custom menu say My Movies, but it would not link to your Movies. These are for things such as MovieTimes and WebRadio plugins.

Make sure and export your collection.xml to the path listed in the properties file, in order to pull in Metadata.

6.10 has broken DVD menu navigation for me (off a hard drive video_ts folder, but I am not sure about an actual disc) . When you are in a DVD root menu, and select something like play, or hit the select button on the remote while hovering on play, Sage jumps to the last other media type you have been playing and starts to play that. So, if the last thing you have done is listen to music, then when you select to play from the DVD root menu, suddenly the screen jumps to your music area, and starts playing the last playlist. DOH!

Also, I am not sure if it happens in 6.10, but at least in 6.9, I have this issue:
If you are listening to a playlist, or a music queue.
While listening to that you are in some other screen, like guide search results, or in pictures.
Then when the next song comes, the song changes, but then also the screen you are on jumps to some other selection, as if the next song coming in the queue also sent you to the next thing in your current screen.

Can someone confirm if that also is happening in 6.10 because I have already reverted to 6.9b due to the DVD navigation issue I already reported.

Third and final request for a new feature. Can we PLEASE get an option to have the next/previous chapter button, and the ffwd, rwnd buttons work like a normal CD player would when you are playing a music queue? It is very annoying that the only time the buttons will work like a normal music device are if you go to the visualize screen! I find myself very commonly wanting to skip to the next song, and then I have to navigate to some special screen just to do it.
