No no, you don't have to 'import' anything. Just follow the instructions on the download page (shutdown UI / server, extract files), and load the SageMC_169.xml - that's all... Dirk |

There are two XML files to load one that says SageTV3_169.xml and the one you mention?

Just load the SageMC_169.xml file, the other is a file that SageMC uses internally to switch to the default UI Setup Menus.

I just installed SageMC this weekend for the first time; I'm impressed, but somewhat bewildered by the amount of settings/options/customization that one can perform.
Is there a thread (other than the prior 242 pages here) or a wiki on some common ways to setup SageMC? I saw discussion of a wiki that was hosted on the sage-community site, but apparently that's not around anymore. Thanks Matt

LOL, Snoopy, I thought you had been using SageMC for a long time? Did you forget something?
Matt, unfortunately, SageMC has become such a large and feature rich STV, no one has bothered to keep up with the Wiki. It would probably take someone a year or longer to document the entire thing...I actually started documenting all of the properties settings about 10-14 months ago, to put on the Wiki to help people out. Before I was finished with it, Dirk came up with the graphical settings in the GUI, so you never have to open the properties file, which IMO, was one of the major advances of SageMC over the years. If you go into the SageMC options menu, the good thing, is that Dirk has been pretty good about explaining what each setting does, which for a newbie, makes things a lot easier than, "sagemc_videos_delete_when_i_say_so=true," and what not...

OK, thanks.
I think that some of my confusion was simply on the dynamic menus, which I'd never used. When I initially installed SageMC, i'd click on the menus, and they'd all report "Internal menu xxx not found". Once I turned off the dynamic menus, I'm able to actually navigate and do things. I'll try to read up on the dynamic menus so that I can actually get those running. Thanks Matt

I figured out the problem. The reason why I didn't see it myself was that it only affected video folders in the root import folders, and my single file folders were deeper in the hierarchy. Try the attached STV and let me know if it works. Dirk |

Hi Dirk,
In SageMC 6.3.5, file sizes are not being detected properly. In 6.3.4, they work fine -- but for 6.3.5 all my recordings show 0.00gb in the recording detail screen (but the default STV and the 6.3.4a STV show the correct sizes). Any thoughts? |

That was fixed in an intermediate update. Just download the dev build of 6.3.5 again, and load the new STV, and you'll be set.

So I recently upgraded to the latest sagetv and sagemc. My Videos has files grouped together in folders, which used to display as such in sagemc, but now the folders are being ignored and the individual files are all showing up together in one big list. How do I go back to the old way?

Sorry, misunderstood you, I thought you meant under My TV.
Are they in individual folders? I believe there may also be a setting in SageMC Options for this, but I can't remember. I'll see if I can find it tonight.

Yes, they are. Lemme know if you find anything, thanks! I just edited 7000 MP3 ID3 tags to get them all organized and now all my videos are messed up, haha. I should have just left well enough alone.

DVD Profiler
I'm using the latest MC and have tried, read, tried and read some more about how to import profilers information into Sage MC. I get the DVD cover images but can't seem to get the overview, characters...ect. I get no information.
I'm using DVDProfiler 3.03. I have read many post and I don't seem to find any definitive answer. I believe I have all the paths setup right?? What am I not doing. Oh, if I shutdown Sage TV service I can get the Profiler info, but as soon as I turn on the Service I'm stuck again...no info, just DVD covers. Thank you |
