You have to be running SageTV v6.2. The core animations were not added prior to v6.2. Upgrade to the latest release version and try it again.

recorded tv/grouped view issue

another issue...
in recorded tv/grouped view, when i want to view the shows in a group (TV SubGroup), the list is empty, the button 'sort by date' is empty.

previously (sagemc 6.1), i've corrected this issue, replacing some values in the stv :
1) in TV SubGroup/MainMenuContainer/View/Toggle/If GroupFilter...
branch archived=>Tous (replacing All)
2) in Recordings/.../if caller/Recorded Tv/../If GroupFilter/Tous (replacing All)

nb: my language is french
someone can help me ?

What's the way to change the number of rows displayed in the Recorded TV shows section?

Thanks.

IINM, that would be a feature request!

Thanks, good to be back. I was having withdraws...and hard drive failures...

I look at hard drive failures from an interesting prospective though, it clears out more space for more recordings! (At least, once you replace it!)

Hi!

I'm having a couple of issues. First, When I return to this stv after going to detail settings, the rss ticker is speeding across the screen. Going into the ticker options and just clicking close (not changing anything) gets it to recognize the speed setting.

Second, when I go to My Pictures, it's blank except for the menu on the left. If I select slideshow, images start showing up. So, they are there, I'm just not seeing any folders. The folders are there in the default stv.

Third, has anyone got the email to work with gmail? When I go into the email screen, it's is empty, no left menu or anything. Also, do I need to restart the UI when I make a change to the mailaccounts.xml file?

Oops, I guess that's 3 things.

While, I'm at it, let me ask one more general type question. Does anyone else like the way music is handled in the default stv? I really like the scrolling album art and the year view. I love the way you can drill down into your music collection. For example, the year view, then choose 1996, then view by genre and choose Rock. You can then list all the 1996 Rock songs or each album or artist. And where you're at is displayed at the top (Years - 1996 - Rock). The only thing I don't like about the the way it is in the default stv is the album view is a list, with only 4 album visible at a time. It would be better if done like the artist view.

Oh, and another nice thing, the titles or artist names shrink to fit instead of getting cut off with '...'. Although, there should be a limit to the shrinking as it gets too small sometimes.

Any possibility of getting some of this into SageMC?

Thanks!

Hi,

Yes the toolbar is available during playback. The only difference it that it requires a click at the top of the screen instead of just a rollover to get it to appear. I hope to have the update done tonight or tomorrow.

Aloha,
Mike

Before you go through the hassle of a full reinstall, try the following:

- make a backup of your SageTV directories on client and server
- shut down the SageUI on the client, and shut down the server
- remove the SageClient.properties file and all property files in the "Client" directory on the server (you want to keep your Sage.properties file to retain your tuner settings etc)
- remove the SageMCE folder on client and server
- extract the full 6.3.4 install package on your client and server
- start up the server and client, it should load the default STV
- load the 6.3.4a SageMC STV on your client and on your MVPs

Dirk
Is this advice specific to Fidgety Rat's problem, or is SageMC required on both the server and client(s) for all users?

Thanks.

You only need to install SageMC on the server if you

- run the UI on the server
- use MVP or Placeshifter

Otherwise it's sufficient to install it on the client(s) you want to use it on.

OK, I played around with this a bit last night. I don't know exactly what version of SageMC I was using, but it was the "Full Install" 6.3.4 version available from the download site.

I tested it on a client running Sage 6.2.1 and java 1.6u3.

Unfortunately, I encountered the following show stopper: the mouse won't work with the guide (either scrolling or selecting shows). Is this a known limitation or a glitch?

Also, for what it's worth, these smaller items occur(ed):

- when first loading it up, there was an error that "menu.xml" was missing, no biggie, I just loaded the default and it work OK from there.

- hitting the yellow conflict icon freezes the UI (can be recovered by bringing up the options menu, then cancelling).

Toolbar looks/works great.

Thanks,

KJ

You need to disable the time marker in the EPG. There should be an option for it in Settings > SageMC > Main > Screen Specific Options > EPG. That should take care of this issue.

Aloha,
Mike

Change log

Hey - I did a quick search of this thread, and didn't see it at the start of the thread...is there a change log for 6.3.4? I want to come up from 6.3.1, but want to know what to expect.

Also - the wiki link at the beginning seems to be broken - does the wiki no longer exist?
