I just DL'ed the demo of it and it looks good, and works good. Looks like it maybe just a issue with that screensaver. Oh well, no big deal.

Thanks for the additional features.

Yeah, I couldn't even get them to work with Sage in the tray if I had FSE enabled.

LOL, nope, have the large ones installed. Does that mean they will be tiny on the HDTV, or just resized on the HDTV?

Edit: Looks like they are smaller on the HDTV. Too bad there is no way to resize them, depending on the resolution of the TV... Oh, well, I can deal with it on the HDTV. They still look good.

What is the limitation to the demo version? It it worth the $20?

I'm running 6.3.1, and was wondering: is it better to reinstall the full one or the STV updat? or doesn't it matter?

Thanks!

You should be good with just the update.

Aloha,

I'll try this at home with my MX-500 and send message enabled. 'My Aquarium', is that the freeware one ? I'll download and install it myself, to see if its a setup/environment or program issue

Dream Aquarium has an option to only exit on ESC, did you check if you have this set ? Otherwise it's almost the same setup as mine (DA, girder, usb-uirt), and it works fine for me ...

Limited number of species of fish available, will only remember 3 fish when it next starts up, automatically powers down monitor after 10 minutes.

Is it worth it ? In my opinion, absolutely. It has the best fish motion / behavior model I've seen so far, *quite* close to the real thing. And they just released a new beta (available in the forum) which contains a new "camera" view that randomly zooms / follows different fishs, pretty cool. I would suggest to try some of the other main sims out there (I used http://aquarium-screensavers-softwar...com/index.html for some links), and decide yourself...

Screensavers

Now that you can use any screensaver with SageMC, I thought I'd mention a link where you can download some FREE OpenGL screensavers. They are very nice, and remind me a little of my Geiss Winamp plugins.

http://prdownloads.sourceforge.net/r...1.zip?download

You can also check out the website at reallyslick.com.

Enjoy!

Oops, I probably wasn't clear enough... I meant I am using Girder with SendMessage actions, instead of using the USB-UIRT suppport in SageTV itself. Thats how you use it, right ?

Hi Technazz,

no, not at all. I just wanted to make the point that "sendmessage" only applies in an environment where you use something like Girder to control SageTV...

I downloaded the 'My Aquarium' screen saver and tried to exit it without Girder, and it still worked fine for me. Since this is seems to be an issue for quite a few people there has to be something externally which is causing it, but I can't figure out what it is...

Wish Sage would fix this...make it bigger or something...

Maybe in the meantime, putting a huge link to the "Download Here" link in the description section, would make it easier to find. I have to admit, it took me several minutes the first time I tried to find one...
I never did find the "Download Here" section - I finally had to ask!

Hmmm, maybe they're trying to weed out those who shouldn't be messing with customizations...

Now, where is that 'Download Here' button?

i just tried again, and it seems like its a problem with only certain buttons on my remote. i naturally tried to use up or down at first to exit the screensaver...then the number keys. these won't work but stop and pause and a few others work.

guess i'll just use those. great feature btw!

fwiw i do have it set to exit on any key
