Right click your mouse or the "options" button on your main page and enable My Weather. Go into the Sage 16x9 options unbder Detailed settings-Advanced and disable the sounds.

You mean its a problem in 6.0.13? or any of the betas? On 6.0.12 it would increment my XML file up with -1, -2, etc.

Has anyone tried the visualization with Deria's Winamp plug-in recently?
The last time I tried it, it would play songs fine, but when I tried the visualization, I got an error saying I was out of memory or something... I'll have to try it again to get the exact error message.

I don't know how many people are not using a mouse but it would be nice if these options were duplicated in the Sage 16x9 menu. I'll check again the Sage 16x9 options... That far I did not find the option to disable the sounds :P Erik. |

So if you have a folder under My Videos, and you put 5 sub-folders containing videos in it in addition to 3 invidiual videos that are not in folders - is it showing "8 items" on the folder label for you? It only shows 5 for me. |

For a long time now, I've been using the old version of SageMC with a set of custom modifications that I implemented. The work you've done on this STV is very impressive, though, so I decided to try it out.
Everything works very well! I did end up having to re-implement some of my cystomizations, though, so I have some suggestions if you're interested: 1) Customizeable date formats in the recording lists. You seem to have two options; the "6hr", "2 hr", etc. OR "Today"/Date (MM/dd)". It would be nice if you could set the date format in the second option to a different format. For example, I changed it to: "MMMM dd, yyyy / h:mm a" because I prefer the long format. That works out to "September 21, 2006 / 10:30 AM". Other people might prefer "MMMM dd / h:mm a" or even "MMMM dd / h:mm a" or something else entirely. It was an easy change for me to make (think I changed about 2 lines in the studio), but its a nice convenience feature. 2) You don't seem to have support for the transcoding screens. This is one of the nicest new features of the new version. I actually hacked in basic support for it by importing the two menus that SageTV uses for this and modifying them slightly to work in the STV. I added a button to the video details screen for a recording that jumps right to the question and answer session for a transcoding session. I also imported the main transcoding screen that lets you watch the progress of the transcoding and maintain the transcoding list. Its not perfect (in fact, its a terrible hack job) but it looks reasonable and works. My point is that you could probably implement this functionality quite a bit faster and more gracefully than I did. If you want my copy of the STV to see what I did, just PM me and I'll send it. Its not very elegant, but it might be useful to you. 3) Would it be possible to have the option to rename the "My Whatever" menu options. I know it sounds trivial, but I just hate the "My" terminology. I prefer "TV", "Weather", "Recordings", etc. Personal preference, of course, but it would be handy. 4) I found the diskbar too complex for my fiance's tastes. I changed it so that the background is more visible, and it only draws the space used graph instead of the drawing space used and space needed over the next whatever number of hours. I also changed it to show the GB free on the left and the number of hours left on the right. that seems a lot less complicated. You might want to consider having a "simple diskbar" option. (Or you might not. Admittedly, these suggestions are all based on my personal preferences.) 5) I like how when you go into the details of a show, it magically gets a picture for the show from somewhere (imdb, i guess). It sometimes gets the wrong picture though. It would be nice if there was a way to clear the picture so that if it gets the wrong one it goes away forever. In any case, I'm very impressed with the work you've done on this STV. Its -very- good. |

Hey, there you are! Haven't heard from you in a while. All good suggestions. I think he was waiting on the transcoding until it was more finalized, so that he wouldn't have to make a lot of changes later on.
I really like the idea of renaming the other items in the main menu, without having to use the dynamic menu. I'm also getting a bit tired of the "My" everything...maybe I'm not as self-centered as I used to be, I don't know... Disk bar suggestions sound nice too. I have a couple shows that get the wrong picture as well, such as, Criminal Minds. It pulls up a movie picture, instead of something based on the TV series. Deria, oh, yeah, any comments on the Winamp plug-in question I posted a few posts back? Dirk. I'll give that one a try tonight. I assume, it's been a while, that if I'm running service mode, you need the log from the sageclient, right?

Ok, found the question. I'm not sure of the answer, though. I haven't recreated my entire setup under this STV yet, so I don't have the Winamp sutff running at the moment. The old SageMC supported it just fine, though, so I would imagine that the new one should as well. There was nothing particularly magical about the visualization screen; all it did was contain a blank screen that invoked a function that caused Winamp to display its visualization. The screen had listeners for the usual SageTV actions like play/pause/ff/rew/exit. Thats about it, though. No real logic on the screen at all. So, in short... I'm not sure. If you can tell me where in the current SageMC it is that I can find the visualization trigger, I'll give it a go on my system and let you know what happens. - little time and shifted priorities - waiting for the feature to stabilize so I don't have to make a lot of changes again - keeping an eye out for EP's compression project which might be even better than the one in the stock STV. Not sure about the integration yet Compression will not be in the next version, but most likely in the one after that. Of course your modified STV would be of help, so I'll take you up on that offer ... Quote:

But ... I didn't add any new fixes to version 4, just added back the debug logging So are you sure that version 3 did *not* work ? If so, very strange indeed ... Edit: never mind, I just did a diff on v3 and v4, and I had indeed a typo in the fixed code Code:
if ... +- true +- ... +- true +- ... Anyway, glad it works now Can anyone else with the same problem try this out too ? Dirk Last edited by dflachbart; 10-31-2006 at 04:59 PM. |

If I take a series that I already have saved as KDFWDT (HD), and try and change the channel to the KDFW (SD) channel, it shows the ! by it. However, if I add a new series that is not already in the lineup, and then go down to where it says channel (ANY), then hit the + key, I see both the SD and HD channel listed as the first two channels. If I take a series I already have, change it to ANY, then save it, come back in, and hit the +, then I get the other channels. So, it appears to be working, but in order for it to recognize the other available channels, you'll need to make sure that it's set to ANY, then saved first, then check them. I noticed that "Other Showings" now takes into account the filtered channel setting, so it won't show you SD, if you only have HD set. I wonder if this has changed in V6.
