Just tried it with 6.2.0a and the exact same show, and it offers channel 27 DSC and channel 775 DHD to me ... Can you tell me which lineup you are using ... ?

Umm, sure, how? Isnt there a lineup ID?

If not, I am using Dish Network - New York for satellite, and OTA is South Bend-Elkhart - Digital.

We tried everything possible last night to get a couple new series into the new 6.20a, and it just wouldn't show any channels that any of them were on. It would show every channel except the ones that the series was recording on. I must be missing something too .... Any ideas? I will say that the new STV handled it very nicely, it was a nice change to see.. -John
Yup, same exact behavior as mine. I am thinking its a setting we have wrong, and not a lineup issue though, unless you are on Dish Network lineup too?

That info is fine ...

One more question: I'll only be able to test a different lineup on my dev 5.x server, so does the same thing happen on 6.13a ?

I believe its always been like this since I started using MC. I suppose you are wanting me to install 6.13a and check? Have a download link for 6.13a?

Hey Dirk, I dont suppose it has anything to do with running MC on a client? Maybe it works on a Sage server installation but not on a remote client? Just wondering, since this seems to have been the cause of some previous issues I had. (as you can tell, I am grasping at straws!)

Well, unfortunately this can't be the case, I tried it on a client ... Since John mentioned that it worked on 6.13a, I'll have to wait until tomorrow to try it with your lineup. Something probably changed in the Sage core which is causing the current code to fail. Just weird that it works fine for me... Are you both having channels in your lienup which have a "-" in the channel name ? Just an idea, I couldnt think of any reason this would make a difference in the code, but I do not have any such channels, so maybe ...

Beeps/clicks on MVP???

I am running this interface through the MVP and the click sounds are happening on my workstation rather than the MVP. Anyway to get the sounds on the MVP?

Thanks!

But we also tried a bunch of random ones also, as we thought it might have something to do with just that show, so I just don't know.

NOW, when this just came up, we sat down at the tube and decided to try again so we could get some good data for Dirk and Kirby, thinking we could help narrow it down. Well guess what!? It is working now!! I have tried setting up about 3 or 4 different series settings, and all of them showed the channels they were airing on! I don't have channels with - (hyphons) in them, and when it works, there will be all the channels that don't have that show display a !, and the channels with the show just show the channel number (just like it worked before). So now I am stumped! It is clearly working correctly now, but it truly wasn't last night or the night before...so very weird. Also, this is on a server, not client. -John
Ok, so let me try the same way you did it. Can you give me a rundown of the process you used, and a show you used? For example, are you finding a show in the guide, or searching for a show?

I havent been using my OTA channels because of antenna issues, so I could remove them. But I wouldnt expect that would affect something on say Discovery and Discovery HD though? I could see where it might be an issue for a CBS show that airs on my 22-1 and 6301 (satellite).

Take a look at this thread: http://forums.sagetv.com/forums/showthread.php?t=20972

It talks about the sounds playing on the server, and how to stop that.

Thats exactly how I was doing it. And when I press either the + or -, it will scroll through all the ! channels, never showing me the channels that actually carry the show.

Dirk, silly question, there isnt a MC setting that I havent set properly for this to work is there, or any setting that would affect it?

There shouldn't be a setting that's messed up. I know this was a problem a few versions back, and I pointed it out to Dirk. It was fixed in the next release. Maybe it got broken again due to core changes. I'll check mine tonight when I get home.

I am totally at loss ...

I set up your satellite lineup, selected "American Chopper" from the guide, added the favorite, and it offers me nicely 182 DSC, 845 TDCES, and 9421 as airing channels...

I am at a loss too. This is a completely clean client installation, XP Pro, did all the MS updates, then installed Sage 6.0.12, then MC 6.2.0a (on top of the 5.x, didnt use the installer that was written).

Do I need to run 6.2.0a on the server? I never run anything there, its totally headless, and running the default V6 STV.

Nope, no need for that ...

Can you later try the attached debug STV, go to the series settings, and then send me the debug log ?

Here you go...

Now I went into Prison Break's settings, and this is a show I have forced to channel 6303 in the default V6 STV. If that matters, then I can redo it for a show that I havent forced in this method (but all my series settings are set this way right now).

Which channels (name) should appear if it worked correctly ?
