Thank you for that.

After using your importer with Sage, i have on live-tv all my programs that have guide tv, but those that do not have guide tv does not appear in live-tv.
I think i miss a thing or something.

Let's say ch 5,10,14 was analog internal channels, with live news from my cable company, without guide tv, those dissapear from my list of channels in sage.

the XMLTV Importer completely replace the lineups in SageTV: a lineup contains not only guide data, but the list of channels also.

All the channels you want to see in SageTV must be present in the XMLTV lineup (even if they don't have XMLTV data).

Regards,
Stéphane.

I've been running the donator version succesfully for years, but now I've encountered a problem during import.

I made some changes to my lineup, and ran the importer succesfully after that. The next automatic update failed though, and now I can't even update the data manually.

The log only gives me this:

Quote:

I have alway had 2 channels with the same number, so that can't be it. Otherwise I'm stumped.
Any advice ?

It seems you have two rules for the same show. Edit the rules.xml file to remove one of the rule (rules.xml is located in the Config & Log directory)

Stéphane.

Thanks for the quick reply.

That was exactly it, and after editing the rules.xml file, everything is working again.

Hi Stephane

Ive just done a new WHS server and sage install. Everything seems to be working apart from the automatic updates with xmltv importer. I'm using the donator version 4.0. It sets up a task and the the main importer screen comes up and goes to the import screen but it then just sits there. It does not run the grabber or load the xmltv file.

Hope you can help.

James

The main GUI should not popup unless you click on the taskbar notification icon.

It the taskbar notification icon loads when the task is running but don't spin => you don't have the donator version installed.

Stéphane.

Stephane,

I am currentöy using version 4. Suddenly, a problem has occured that has been mentioned in this thread for a much earlier version, with no solution being offered: Sage starts to change the EPG info for existing recordings. E.g., I program a show titled A in the EPG for recording, but when I look up the recording a few days later it has the EPG info for a completely different show B. I'm guessing your importer is assigning the same EPGID twice. This has occured several times during the past week or so - and there was exactly zero change to my setup. What can I do? Thanks!

The Importer keeps tracks of the EPGID it uses in the lookup.xml file. If this file is corrupted then the Importer will issue the same EPGID for different shows for each import session.

Also, EPGID are finite, so as time goes by, the Importer must dismiss old EPGID so they can be reused for new shows. If you are using the Importer for a very long time you may have this issue as the Importer cannot know what EPGIDs are still used by old recordings in SageTV.

You can send me all the files zipped in the Importer Config & Logs folder as well as your XMLTV file zipped to lmgestion@hotmail.com so I can take a look at your data (You can also include in the e-mail some details about shows that were affected : show title / EPGID / new wrong title)

Regards,
Stéphane.

As the shows are exactly the same at the same time, it means that you are importing two times (or more) the same channel. To be more specific, I think that in your Importer lineup you have two channels with the same ID and the same XMLTV data.

Stéphane.

I think that double channel data it's because i use an alpha version of xmltv , because another user that use same xmltv but from another grabber make an thread with this name:

tv_grab_eu_epgdata, windows:All entrys are double

In SageTV importer all are ok, all channels are ok, no double channel no nothing.

Indeed if the xmltv data are duplicated, you'll get the conflict warning in the Importer.

Even if you have a duplicated channel, you may not see it in SageTV EPG : SageTV regroup identical channels, so that only one is seen on the EPG (same channel ID, different channel numbers, SageTV use one of the channels depending on tuner availability). Though in your case your data must have the duplicates.

Stéphane.

For guys that do not know that, here is the latest alpha( beta version) of xmltv :

http://alpha-exe.xmltv.org

If you have problems with official xmltv.exe then you need to try this alpha, there are updates weekly on it.

Hi Stephane,

I have a channel that has advertisements inserted into it by the local cable provider, during the middle of a film epg sources don't include this extra 10mins approx for each program, so I am looking for a way to pad each programs length to compensate for this. e.g. add 10 mins to the stop time of the all shows is there a tool out there that can do this?

Thanks,

Peter.

It would be much easier to add the padding when you record on that channel.

Otherwise, it seems to me that the grabber should take care of this (so you may want to contact the grabber author).

You can also create a VBScript to modify the listings yourself (by using MSXML objects).

Stéphane.

will not install on WHS

In the future I was hoping do get the donate-version since I am installing on an WHS. But tried the free version today, just get the "error 1001, stop sage before install". I do have stopped sagetv (also checked task manager, but it is really stopped), but still only get the "error 1001".

How can I install on WHS?

SageTV is still running: either the service (SageTVService.exe) or the client (SageTV.exe).

Regards,
Stéphane.
