nicklaz,

I didn't think you had the same problem I had.

You mentioned that your recorded file stuttered in both Sage and Media Player. If it is in the same spot then you have a recording issue, distinct from a playback issue.

You might want to remove one of your Hauppauge cards until you get a stable system.

Unfortunately, someone else will have to pick up the baton to help you as I don't know much about running 2 tuners. At least you know it's not the power of your system. You have a vastly more powerful cpu and video card then I do.

I've been having a stutter problem on playback of recorded material (audio or video) that I have correlated with the start of a video capture session (a favourite, or whatever, becoming active). I've only got one capture card so I presume with two cards it is much more likely that a recording session will be starting while you are watching prerecorded material.

I haven't tried the reghack or antivirus exceptions yet since I've just started looking for a solution. I thought I'd communicate my observations in case they were helpful.

Unfortunately I'm using AVG free antivirus which I believe doesn't allow you to configure any exceptions for scanning.
