STV Import: STVi importer

Using 6.2.10 with SageMC and it still works for me.

I am using the standard STV and it stopped working in 6.2.10 worked fine in 6.2.8

Just tested in the defaultUI by renaming the importer.xml to .stvi and changing my import in the plugins.cfg and it works fine.

How is it not working? Is it hanging on an import? Have you tried importing in each import separately and in the order of the .cfg to see if there is a compatabilty issue.

there have been some newer versions of the file, still ver0.3, posted in attachments in the thread, and I may be using one of those, I don't recall, so try them out if you haven't.

What version of java are you running? You need Java 1.6 with the latest version of df_sageutils.jar and Java 1.5 with any version after Feb 07.

Thanks john.. I see what is wrong now... I recently moved my Sage server from the C Drive to the S drive. The import I guess looks at the server to find where the STVI's are located. So it is looking for them on the S drive which does not exist of my Clients.

I was able to get it to go... by mapping the S drive on my clients. I think it should be looking for the STVI's on the local client Instead of the Server. This works great if the Server is on the C drive only.

since upgrading to 6.3 this STVi hasn't worked anywhere but on the server itself. I can't get it to go more than sagetv3-1.xml running from either extender. It used to work from the MVP; never tried from the HD100 before now. In order to re-import from the base STV I have to fire up the client on the server and run the STVi from there.

I got this working for me and it is GREAT !!

The original problem I had was that it worked fine on the server but not on my client. My client is running on Vista and the Server is on XP. It seems the importer code uses the Server path for the STVI's so it was looking on my Client under C:\Program Files\..... My Clients local sage files are in C:\Program Files (x86)\.... so the importer failed to find the STVIs.

My solution was to just create a matching path on my Client that only contains the STVI files in C:\Program Files\SageTV....

Now it works great on both the Client and the Server.

Perhaps when Flachbar gets a chance in the future to update the import jar he can solve this somehow by using the "local" file path to Sage.... but for now I can use this great utility to save me time.

I just checked this out with 6.4.6 RC and the importer is now using the local directory on my Vista Client (C:\Program Files (x86)\....) rather than the server path (C:\Program Files\....)

So the fix listed in the release notes works
