Have you changed everything in all your sage apps to look at that location with a UNC path? that's the first thing that can cause this. if the server is set for UNC the clients have to reference the same location via UNC; if the server is using regular paths then so do the clients. they can of course both be used at the same time, but it's got to match on all the installs. hope that makes sense.

Thanks for the help. I will check the client--that may be it since I made all the changes on the server only. And I prob. do have an older version of playback. I am currently working on installing the new EVO qam tuner so will have to wait a bit.
Thanks again to both of you. Randy

I moved up from build 65 to 68 about a week ago. Now I'm seeing comskip cut shows several seconds to over a minute before the commercial starts. It's also been marking "long" sections of commercial space as show in some cases. It does well for about the first 1/2 of a program then seems to lose track. All my recordings are SD w/ CC data embedded. I'm going to reset Comskip Monitor to use the 65 release and see what happens. Great work on the releases so far, Erik. WAF is high.

output_framearray=1 and send me the .csv file generated with the new version and the .txt file generated with the old version and your .ini file? I do need these examples for regeression testing.

if 70 is out I may try that first, but when I get some time I'll set up some tests to see what happens. Will EDL be ok or do you need TXT?
gplasky: I go through the old ini side by side with the new one when I configure a new release just to make sure I get all the settings updated. I have some fires to fight first over recordings to a samba share randomly dropping 1/2sec or so worth of frames. I think I'll move some DVDs to that drive and maybe that'll free up enough space locally that Sage will use these drives instead.

I just noticed "output_edlx=0" in the x70 ini file. What's the difference between edlx and edl? I couldn't find it in the Comskip docs, and it's not commented in the readme.
Thanks! --Steve

output_edlx is the format requested by the TVersity team.
They intend to add commercial skipping at some point in time. Its a xml variant of the .txt file. Just checked to see its broken, so much for bad regression testing.

Erik...quick question for you. Is there any configuration for comskip that improves the speed with which it performs the commercial detection. Perhaps dropping one or more of the detection methods? I'm just curious because recently it seems like it takes quite a while for the detection. Thanks!

FYI, can I request a "Done" or "Close" button on the Comskip setup options? It took me a few tries to figure out I could close the dialog with the yellow button on the Hauppauge remote. I think I like the "No Comskip" icon approach. Less eye-pollution. Thanks again! --Steve

And there is not mutch you can change to increase the speed. Except from recording at lower resolution but you don't want that I presume.

Hey Guys,
Has anyone noticed audio errors when encoding certain shows? I see a whole bunch of them in the log file, I'm using the latest version (70) of comskip. I think it's happening during live shows, but haven't sat down to debug to see what's really going on. Let me know if anyone needs some debug info... Thanks! FC |

Could anybody from the US post there modified .ini file? I want to use Comskip but am not sure in my abilities in editing the .ini file.

The audio errors should not realy bother you unless you get bad commercial detection.
Comskip does not do anything to the encoded file and your encoder (if used) should take care of the errors on itself.

Sage Bug Options
Are the two Sage Specific options.. the "Sage Bugs" that are off by default in Comskip.ini still bugs that force us to enable these options in the .ini?? I turn them on, but wanted to be sure I still needed to.
Thanks! |

I did not receive any notice that they are no longer needed.
