How do you not have Windows Media Player installed? If you don't want to install it, there are other ways, like Radlight Filter Manager, or Graphedit.

Stanger,

I always uninstall WMP. It's one of numerous things done after installing XP. But, re-installed it for this test. nVidia is the default decoder. Went through all the settings on the DVD tab but still no luck.

Too bad you don't make house calls !!

Anyhow, it's just not worth spending any more time on. Just something on this end, cockpit or otherwise, that says no go.

Thanks, Ken C

Doesn't the advanced button bring up the nVidia Audio Decoder settings?

No, it brings up AC3 settings. And Deccheck says nVidia is the default. So, I think it's time to do a bit of un-installing and re-installing. Windows has been running for about 8 months, it's probably time for a clean install.

Yea, I'm going to format my HTPC this weekend and start over. Everything was working fine a week ago. Now its all gone to hell and back. It was time for one anyway, it's been about 6-8 months.

Come to think of it, my gaming rig needs a good formatting, too. Looks like I'm gonna be busy this weekend. Building a new box, and formatting 2 old ones. I'm gonna get sick of seeing the windows installation screens...
