That works perfectly and was an obvious way to fix it (at least once you see it done). Great fix.

Yeh! I just changed the SageCommand("Back") to 2 SageCommand("Stop")'s. Did not try it when the Stop dialog is disabled but I don't think it will make a difference.

Man... I just stumbled on to this thread / customization and it might do exactly what I want. My situation:

I have both directv and dish network and one tuner for each. All seems to work, but I don't really like the way the channels all merge together in the guide (2 channel # 250). I have been wondering about a way to seperate them and haven't really come up with a way yet. This plugin might do it.

It should be possible to set up 2 favorite lists where one corresponds to tuner 1 (in this case DTV) and the other corresponds to tuner 2 (dish network). If I am understanding this correctly, I can flip to favorite list one and then only see those channels from DTV, and then flip to favorite list 2 and see only those channels from dish network?

The last thing is to figure out a way to disable how is automaps a channel to just one of the tunners. That is, I have now 2 CNN channels, but it only shows (and gives me access to) the one on my DTV box. This sucks and I can't figure out how to disable it. The trouble is that sometimes one of the other boxes is off at the cabin with my wife temporarily (or otherwise disabled) and it is a pain to always remove the source. If I can disable this feature and use this favorite list as a tuner selector, I might be home-free. This make sense? Am I missing something?

I can at least answer your first question. It's yes. I have three lineups one for each tuner and it's a thing of beauty. Well worth the time setting it up!

I am curious to know the answer to the second question as I have the same problem.

Not completely sure I understand the question here but I will try.

I have a version in the downloads section that contains both a version for the default STV and the SageMC STV. The default version has been updated in a later post that includes a function another user wanted but I've never heard back on if the change was acceptable so it is still in that post only. The SageMC version in the download section will work with SageMC version 6.3.4 and earlier. I updated the SageMC version in a post above that works with 6.3.7 and another for 6.3.6b. I will move that to the downloads section after a couple of weeks if no troubles are reported.

I have a thought on how to decouple the parental features from this plugin and make a separate plugin just for controlling the channel viewing with parental controls. However it will be a significant time before I'm likely to do this. I have to finish another version of my VideoEdit plugin first before I work on my idea.

Did this help?

As herrdude said this is what this plugin was originally designed to do.

Unfortunately I cannot solve this problem with a plugin. Does your listing have a HD version of CNN? Maybe you could remap one of them to it - if it exists. I've never done this so I doubt I will be much help on this - sorry.

This is going to be simply too cool. I have been really wanting to seperate them and this looks like the best solution I have seen so far. I think I will try it this weekend and see how it works.

I take it that you have to go through it manually and just assign it channel by channel to each list. That is, you can't just say favorite list 1 = tuner 1 and favorite list 2 = tuner 2? No problem doing it manually, just thought I would ask.

As far as disabling the remap thing, I will keep searching for a way. I see enough people complaining here and there, so I am surprised it cannot be disabled. It is really annoying when I am trying to watch a PPV since they have been all remapped to the same channel. Also, it is possible to order all the adult channels so you can watch all of them (not that I would do such a thing)... but now they have all be remapped to just a single channel so you can't flip through them via sage.

I can see this option being favorable for most people who don't care if you watch CNN from what service on what tuner. I also have some quality difference issues, so I like to select what tuner I use. I did set the tuner merits and that picked my global preference, but I still find this to be an inconvenience.

Thanks for the favorite lists plugin... can't wait to set it up!!

Yes it is setup in the FavoriteChannels setup screen. There are two vertical lists. The middle one is for the FCL's names that you might create and the list on the right side is the list of channels. What I've done is create about 12 different lists. One for each of HBO, CineMAX, ShowTime, TMC/Sundance..., Stars, Encore, Movies, Science, Analog, Digital, etc...

OH one thing when setting these up make sure you click on the "No Channels" menu entry between each FCL that you setup that way the channels from the previous FCL are cleared and won't be added to the new one - skip this if you DO want to use them with the next.

Thanks BP... I can't wait to get this going.

Since I am lazy, what I am hoping I can do is remove one of my tuner sources which should remove all the channels from the EPG and let me add the remaining ones to my favorite list #1. Then remove that tuner source and add the other back... get its channel listings and add them to my favorite list #2. Voila! Life is good.... If not, I will manually add them one at a time... no worries

Anyone seeing and issues with 6.3.10 and the stock STV, 1.1.4 of FCL? After tuning a channel, the pin code request always pops up. This didn't happen with the previous versions. Is it just me?

No worries. The fact that no-one else has piped up probably means that it's my setup...

It definitely has linking problems because I am unable to change to a different list with the Guide button so it is likely your setup is fine. However I want to split this plugin into two pieces. One that is just the original plugin and lets you display grouped channels and the other a parental controls plugin that will let you limit the channels to a specific list. It should mean that I can remove some code that makes changing the STVi hard when the Default STV code changes (link points change names or are removed for instance). That said my idea may not work and I may have to leave it alone - but I think it will work. This will take me up to April to do this I think. Can't wait longer because I just upgraded my main server to 6.3.10 and need this was on 6.2.10 before.

Great, whatever you can do. I use it for Parental Control, the only other option would be to remove certain channels from the lineup completely.

Thanks for keeping the porn alive, Bob!

Ok here is a version that makes this plugin 6.3.10 compatible. I started with version 1.1.5 posted above so it may fix your problem but I should say I was not able to reproduce this once I got it to import into 6.3.10 correctly. So if you can tell me if this fixes your issue I will replace the download version with this one if it does. Otherwise can you tell me a little more about the steps you take to get the problem and I'll see if I'm just not following the same path. Thanks.
