Update:
I have now recorded several programs in both SDTV and HDTV with the Vbox tuners. So far sage has not deleted any of them on its own. . I did have one crash which may, or may not, have been "beta" related. I still cannot get the mvp to work with the beta. The wife did, however, get to watch a couple of trouble free hours of HDTV last night . That is a big improvement. I am hoping support will tell me that the problem was related to my tuner install and that I can roll back to the latest release version. That would make my mvp problem easy to solve. . Thanks, Jesse |

Jesse,
I don't think it's a bug in SageTV. Something's probably wrong with your hard disk. I looked through your logs, and basically, at one point the filesystem decided to report that E-Ring and Lost were both 0 bytes in size (which in fact they were not). That most likely means something is going bad in your hard drive. I'd highly suggest doing a scan on your G:\ drive to see if anything is wrong with it. Just wanted to give you a heads up on what I found.

Hello Jeffrey,
Nice to get a response from the "Top Cat." Although everything seems to be working fine with the beta (except my mvp) I will certainly take your advice re. my HDD. What would you (or anyone else knowledgeable in this area) suggest I use to scan it? The drive is a 400gig seagate, maybe six mos. old. If there is a problem I would certainly like to know so I can RMA it before it nosedives with all my recordings on it....... Thanks in advance, Jesse |

Update:
Everything is still working fine. I used the windows utility to check the HDD. It did its thing (1.5-2 hrs) and reported nothing when finished. I also used the seagate utility that came with the HDD to check it. I ran the S.M.A.R.T. test and it reported no parameters exceeded (or something like that) It also had options for both quick and thorough scans. I ran the quick scan first and then the thorough scan. Both times it reported no problems. My mvp seems to be working fine now too. Through chance I tried booting with no other programs running and it booted right up. I turned on the windows firewall, AV, and adware programs one at a time and tested. I think the problem may have been the MS antispyware program. When I fired it up it warned that it was blocking some sort of java app and the yahoo tool bar. I told it to keep killing the yahoo toolbar but to allow the java app. So far so good. Thanks again for all the help. It is great to know sage cares about its customers . Jesse |
