Do you have another PC you can try it in? Is your onboard controller USB 2? To me, it just feels like a USB problem.

Are these utilities likely to corrupt the drive (it is all 1 partition)? I already am in the middle of the process of backing up my data after having read up a bit about cluster size and its effects on fragmentation of large files (i.e. video files), so I could reinstall. I'll give one of those a try and report back... I might be awhile depending on whether or not the utilities work .

I don't have another PC I can try it on at the moment with me. The onboard controller is USB2 on all ports. |

Reformatted my 300gb drive into two partitions: one NTFS system partition (60gb), and one NTFS 64k-cluster-size 222gb partition. Fired up SageTV after reinstalling everything and redoing my settings in Sage (I tried restoring the backed-up ones but I had done it wrong as it didn't recognize them), only to see that recordings still had these i ssues, albeit much smaller and even sparser. I analyzed the video with pvastrumento again, but this time, the timestamps of the audio frames missing do NOT match up with the glitch spots in the video. I don't know what in the world is wrong .

Try a different USB controller?

I can't... it's a small-form-factor system, so no slots/room for an extra USB controller.

Since you say this is happening with other software too, I would try contacting Hauppauge.
The only other thing I can think of would be to see if you can try the PVR-USB2 on a friend's PC. - Andy

Yea, I think I will do that . My guess is the drivers might not like dual-core systems or something .

BTW: I'm using a PVR-USB2 on a dual cpu system right now. There could always be a problem on a different system, but having 2 cpus works for me.
