Not having tested this yet, I cannot confirm but:

I started to see this problem when I changed PVR150 drivers to try and fix another issue. I am using (IIRC) 23348, which I believe is the latest WHQL.

Has anyone tried older drivers?

I doubt that it is the drivers. The only thing that changed on my system when this started was to install SageTV 4.x. Now, at the beginning of any recording, whether I'm watching live TV or watching a recording and another recording starts, my system pegs out at 100% use for about 1 second, then returns back to normal.

Something hinkey is going on inside of SageTV I suspect...

For those that are having a problem when new recordings start, do any of you have the property seeker/fast_mux_switch=false set?

It defaults to true, and for certain bugs during the beta process we were telling people to turn it to false. Just a thought I had....let me know if this is true for any of you on this thread.

Mine was set to true as well. I set it to false, and there is no difference.

Audio Stuttering on Channel Change / Recording Start

I'a also a relatively new Sage user & am having the exact same issues. Running a 3200+ with 1Gig of ram & a 150 & 500, the 150 is connected to a Motorola 6200 via S video & I'm using Firewire to change channels & both the 500 tuners are just hooked directly to cable. Getting the Stuttering Audio on channel changes in the guide & whenever a recording starts. I was running the latest Beta, but did a clean reinstall & went back to the current version 4, Just to make sure. No help there...

Running XP Pro SP2, Gigabyte GA-K8NF-9, eVga GeForce 6600 & am currently just using the on board audio, but am seriously considering the X-Plosion..

My New Simplifi Digital 5075, 5.1 Channel Surround Amplifier Arrives Wednesday !! http://www.simplifidigital.com/simplifi_content.html

So, should I send info to Sage support, or are they already aware of the problem & working on it ??

Bruce

Send it to support...they will tell you if they are aware or not...the forum is not official support.

I'm seeing this as well when recordings start. If my memory seves me right it has also happened once while watching a dvd in sage's dvd player.
I'll have to pay more attention to when it occurs and try some of the possible workarounds.

I'm using 2 x pvr-150's, no cable box. This problem has been a little lower on my to-do list as I have been busy fighting with the picture quality pvr-150s.
