Roughly....

The TriggerEvent function causes the specified event to be triggered. Your script calls TriggerEvent(18, "Global-Scripts-Pause", [some_time_to_pause]).

There needs to be some Girder event (girder internal events are numbered 18, don't ask me why) named "Global-Scripts-Pause".

To your GML, I added that event connected to a command that uses a WinLuaEX function to pause for the specific amount of time.

Does it work now? Girder ain't easy, and you seem to be a little lost in the woods. I'm happy to try to help, but recognize that you can't really use Girder effectively without learning it. Not trying to be harsh, just trying to prod you toward studying a little more deeply, because its a great tool only when understood.

HTH. Keep the questions coming as they crop up. If you haven't digested the Girder documentation (and my guess is that you haven't) then I suggest you do so ASAP. Girder is fantastic and you shouldn't be limited to fragements that other people have put together... learn it, love it, manhandle it, enjoy.

Regards,
Stuart

Thanks. I will try to raise my Girder IQ. I am not a programmer and it is easy to get lost in this stuff. Most of what I have learned to do has been through forums like this one and the assistance of the willing, like yourself. I very much appreciate that!

At any rate, the scipt now appears to work as intended. Thanks so much!

Thumbs up

Salsbst,

Just wanted to thank you again. I've finally got this working!!!!!!

I really appreciate your help. It is great to be able too reliably record all of the DirecTV channels as well as cable.

The picture quality is excellent and really shows off the SageTV abilties. Because of other setup considerations, I am recording from the composite video. I can only assume that S-Video would even be better. I have to say that play back quality of recordings is very close to watching programming directly. And that is comparing to a DVI connection from the DirecTV receiver.

I authored a little how to for dummies on girder, net remote, sageTV, USB-UIRT and plan to add a discussion of the EXETuner plug-in, along with your Girder tweaks, if that is ok with you. If it is ok, I will sing your praises.

Thanks!
Ralph

I'm glad that you got it working and I think it's great that you've taken the initiative to do that writeup.
