ok... i just got one of these DTA boxes from my cable co, and i was wondering how to even set up the IR blaster that came with my Hauppuage HVR-1600 in sagetv... any help would be most appreciated

I'm not trying to be a jerk here, but have you read the manuals? Both the Hauppauge and the SageTV manuals. They do a pretty good job of walking you through the process.
