BTW: if you have a placeshifter license, you can open another Studio window on the server from it. Just run the PS client on the same system as the server & you'll have the UI and Studio windows on the same system.

Confused...
So just to make sure, you can no longer run multi so you are limited to 2 instances, one sagetv with -client and then a client. If i bought another client license would i be able to watch 3 concurrent video streams? And for the record, I think removing -multi without leaving similar functionality in the product stinks.

PIP
I hope we are being understood by the support staff.... We DON'T want to violate the licenses... just to be alble to use the same functionality that the -multi parameter gave us in the past.
Example: I'd like to run two computers. Computer "A" will have the server software running and recording all shows. Computer "B" will ONLY have the client software running on it, connecting to the Computer "A" to watch recorded shows and live TV. What I'd like is to watch more than one show on Computer "B" with the same license of the client software. If I ever get another computer, I'd be more than willing to purchase another client license to do the same from that machine. But for now, I just want to have PIP on the client machine with the same client license. Hope that is clearer (than mud, at least ). |
