I made a major improvement to my wireless stuttering problem last night.. I did 2 things, and am not yet certain which made the improvement, but these are the things I did..

1) Put back the default sagetv STV from the SageMC16x9 I had been using.. I noticed my navigating was much faster immediately!

2) I updated the firmware on my WRT54GS router to www.DD-WRT.com's firmware. I did a restore to factory defaults, then installed the new firmware, reset to factory defaults once again and then went through and set the router back to my configuration...

I'm not sure if it is the firmware or the choice of stv, but I've seen only one mid-stream stutter all day, down from one stutter every 3-5 minutes!

FYI!

Is this weird or what?....

Everyone says to switch to 10baseT with your mediaMVP. In my house I have a belkin router that is 10/100 that sits in my office that both the sage server and my main box/client is connected to. Then my main hub in the house is just an old 24 port 10baseT that I have my MVP hooked into. Stangest thing, is that thru the 10baseT hub I get studdering up the wazzoo, but if I connect the MVP into my router directly (now 100baseT), it plays back perfectly! How odd! I was planning on picking up a new switch for the basement to run the house off of 100baseT (might even do gigabyte since I am already spending the cash), I guess this just speeds things up huh!
