Hope I can get some help here to get my system running correctly. If I understand correctly, if I have a dvd listed in dvdprofiler converted to, say, an avi or mpeg, I can use the data (info/pic) from profiler to be displayed in Germsage for that avi/mpg. DVDProfiler is installed on my main system and I have this in my sage.properties file.
External/CollectionXMLPictures=\\main\\Program Files\\InterVocative Software\\DVD Profiler Beta\\IMAGES External/ExternalCollectionXML=C\:\\Program Files\\SageTV\\SageTV\\STVs\\SageTV3\\Externals\\collection.xml I get nothing displayed. Any ideas where I'm going wrong, besides trying to set this up. Thanks for any help. |

DVDPro2Sage You'll need this to get it to work. Put the whole DVDPro2Sage folder in the SageTV folder where you can see SageTV.exe. (or SageClient.exe) Gerry

There already is a folder for DVDPro2Sage that was installed with the STV. Do I need to replace it?

No-as long as it is there it should work. Double-check and make sure the file is actually in there. Also this is key:

Also I noticed one path is UNC and one path is local. Any reason? Gerry

The text portion is working now, but, no pix. I can only assume it's something in the path to DVDprofiler images. This is what I have tried. Any ideas?
External/CollectionXMLPictures=\\Main\\C Crive\\Program Files\\InterVocative Software\\DVD Profiler Beta\\IMAGES |

Because you're using a UNC path I'm assuming you're running this from a client and DVD Profiler is on the server. I'm also guessing you haven't shared out your entire C drive. Usually Windows doesn't want you to do that. And it won't let you share out the C:\Program Files directory either. I would recommend you share the InterVocative Software directory. Right-click and choose sharing and security and just share that out. Now your path should be \\\Main\\InterVocative Software\\DVD Profiler Beta\\IMAGES (Notice the 3 backslashes before the machine name)If you did share out your whole C drive then it's probabaly because you don't have the 3 backslashes before the machine name.

Finally got this working, but, are there stvi's that don't work with with. I tried STV Import: Remember play position of imported videos and this doesn't seem to work. Works fine if I switch to default STV.

launching a video with an external player
I'm having a real problem getting VOB videos playing with WinDVD.
Germsage seems to work fine launching windvd, but the VOB file doesnt play. i do not have the IFO nor the video_ts directory structure. Instead, i merged all VOB files into one large file. any suggestions? |

OF course, if you have that option turned OFF and SageTV is your imported video viewer, then I'm at a loss. |

How do I add a .cmd file for zoomplayer
I am a little confused about adding an external dvd player.
Bear with me I am a new convertee from BTV and this is all new to me. I read a reference in the opeeing page that says: "If you've used Cayars17 and have customized the external player .cmd files, you can copy them into the \Externals directory - they are the same files. Otherwise, you will probably want to edit the included .cmd files to suit your external player needs. You will need to refer to the .cmd files to see how it's done." But I can not figure out exactly what I need to do. I think it has to do with adding or editing the DVDPLAYER .CMD file in the externals directory but I am not sure if I just edit the one thats there by default for mediaplayer or add a new one. I want to use zoomplayer and would also like to know what the proper script would be to. Can help me out and give me some guidence, Thanks Dave

Bump
Ok I figured part of it out. I just backed up the original .cmd files in the sagetv externals folder of the current stv folder.
I still need the command arguments for both DVDplayer cmd file and the other ( cant remember the exact name) files player .cmd file. I can get zoomplayer to come up but need the rest of the arguments to make it automaticly play the file as soon as I hit the watch now menu. can someone please post there working .cmd file for reference. Next I am on to setting up DVDprofiler and importing picturse and info files. I like this GermSage stv because its easy to get started and learn for a new SageTv user. Baby steps at first. Thanks,Dave

I do not believe it is the script you need to edit but a Zoom Player setting.
Somewhere in the Advanced settings is a checkbox to remember last file played. If this is checked then ZP will not go from DVD Mode to File Mode or back again. I believe this is the setting that got it to work for me.

Some problems with mplayer -- Please Help
I have successfully installed GermSage 1.7 and I am trying to integrate it with mplayer as my external player to play my .avi files that were encoded with the xvid codec. Sage used to play these with its internal player, but for some reason this stopped working sometime around 4.1.
Anyway, I have edited the VideoPlayer.cmd file to call mplayer. It looks like this: "C:\Program Files\mplayer\mplayer.exe" -fs -idx %1 I set SageTV to use the external player for all video types, including native types (side question... is there any way to manually define what native types are? I would like to continue using the internal player for .mpg and only the external player for .avi). Anyway, when I try to launch a video from within Sage, Sage goes to sleep but nothing else happens. I tested the VideoPlayer.cmd file from the command prompt, and it works fine. It just doesn't work within Sage. Does anyone have any ideas? |
