When you do that Sage keeps recording even after the scheduled recording time has elapsed. So you're not going to miss the end of the game in that scenario. If you plan to watch the game again later, then yes you need to tell Sage to keep recording or the part of the show that is recording after the scheduled recording has elapsed will be deleted (I think).

As I said before, I never said there shouldn't be a feature. All I said is it would be inconvienent and not that great of a solution IMO, which is why I still suggest having ample padding instead of fumbling around trying to add time after an event has started.
Maybe I don't see the need for the feature you suggested because (as dvd_maniac pointed out) it can already be done in Sage. You can adjust the stop time (add padding) for a current recording by changing the stop time in the recording options. I guess I just don't see the need to add an option to do something that can already be done with the press of a couple of buttons.
