Best remote varies as it depends on your preferences.
If you want the ultimate remote that controls everything including your toaster, then the pricey Harmony remotes like the 680 is probably the best choice. If you want a simpler and more affordable remote, there are plenty of alternatives. And almost any remote will do if you couple it with Girder and/or a USB-UIRT (if your remote doesn't come with a receiver). As for which remote to get, it's just a matter of deciding on the designs of the remote, like the button layout, sizes, and how many buttons you want. As for RF receptions like on the ATI remote wonder, place the receiver higher up and it should work better. Another option is to get a USB hub with its own power adapter and plug the remote receiver into it, just to give it sufficient power.

Actually my ATI RW receiver is up arond 5.5' high on my entertain center shelf and pretty much haning as far out the front as possible ... but I do have it plugged directly in to the PC's USB port, not my powered USB hub ... I'll try that ... Thanks!
Here's another interesting twist ... I got this from another Sager at work ... http://www.novii.tv/nrdeluxeppc Wonder how well it would work??? Anyone here tried this software before? T. |

I had problems with the ATI wonder also, but I recently got the ATI Wonder II and it works great. It has a better receiver and works from farther away. The plugin from nielm is awsome. It also has mouse capabilities that are far superior to the first version.

I got mine with the AIW video card ... Did you get the RW II with a video card or can it be had separately? Thanks, T. |

I bought it seperately. Newegg.com has them the last time I checked.

MCE with HIP here. HIP works like Girder would and it is free, free, free! I also like saying I use an MCE product in a non-MCE HTPC.
