Yes, I can confirm that issue -- because of the way the properties are named for the three Guide menus, the first one's 2nd & 3rd alternate views will match the first view for Guide 2 & 3. (I almost removed the two extra Guide menu items a while back because the first one can have several alternate views now.) I can easily fix the first guide menu so it doesn't share its views with others, but you'll then have to redefine its views.

Thanks, Andy... That's OK if I have to redefine the views once they have been fixed to stay separate. I had already deleted my SageClient.properties file once to let it start from scratch in case I'd confused it between redefining views and updating it thru the betas. It just takes a few minutes to redefine the views the way I like them so that's not a big deal.

At least now I know I'm not crazy!

It was a pretty easy fix (or at least I think it was), so it will be in the next release.

Thanks for jumping on this so quickly!

The ability to create these custom views is a handy feature IMHO. Maybe this should become a normal feature rather than an unofficial one?

I just installed the latest Beta in anticipation of the arrival of the HD Extender I just ordered.

I took this opportunity to start with a fresh sage.properties since mine was grandfathered from back in the 3.x or so days and was full of extraneous entries from added/deleted lineups, tuners, etc.

Right off the bat Sage started recording everything in sight since I had IR turned on. I thought that odd since I kept my old Wiz.bin until I remembered to set "aggressive negative profiling" for IR.

So now my recording directories are full of "junk" partial recordings. No biggie, I go to my recordings menu and "Where's the view partial recordings entry"!!!!
Slowly it started to creep into my brain that partials was one of the options in the unsupported extras. It had been so long since I'd set that up that I couldn't recall WHERE to do it. So I had to come here to re-read the first message.

After massaging the extras I got my View Partials back and could delete all those junk partials!

Might I suggest that in the future Sage should default so that anything with Martha Stewart as part of the listing be automatically removed from IR, Favorites, heck even the EPG?

Test version 6.3.6.0b; January 10, 2008

Here's a test STV, with a few changes:
  1. Scroll to the bottom of Detailed Setup -> Customize to configure the Default Favorite Settings. Some Favorite options can be set as defaults: FirstRun/ReRun status, AutoDelete, Keep At Most, Start Padding, Stop Padding, and the Recording Quality. Any new Favorite created while the hidden features are enabled will use these defaults. Existing Favorites will not be affected.

  2. Scroll to the bottom of Detailed Setup -> Customize to configure the Default Manual Recording Settings. The default Start Padding, Stop Padding, and Recording Quality can be set. In addition, Manual Recordings can inherit those settings from a Favorite if an airing that is a Fav is turned into an MR. If the Fav and default MR settings both define padding times, the larger pad times will be used. If a Fav has a recording quality setting, it will override the default MR recording quality. Any new Manual Recording created while the hidden features are enabled will use these defaults. Existing scheduled Manual Recordings will not be affected. Currently airing shows will use the overall default rec quality rather than the default MR recording quality.

  3. The videoframe/always_call_fileplaybackfinished property is always reset to false since some custom STVs always set it to true.

Installation:
  1. Make sure you are using SageTV v6.3.6 or later.

  2. Unzip the attached SageTV3_DefFavMROpts.zip into your <install dir>\SageTV\STVs\SageTV3 directory, making sure to keep the directory structure inside the zip file. This zip file is unzipped in the same dir where your STV files are located.

    This will add only the updated SageTV3_DefFavMROpts.xml STV.

  3. Inside SageTV, load the SageTV3_DefFavMROpts.xml STV.

The STV will report itself as v6.3.6.0b in System Information.

- Andy

Edit: removed attachment because it is now part of the v6.3.7 RC beta.

One change in v6.4.3

Now that I have multiple types of tuners instead of all analog TV tuners, I added 1 new thing that I found useful:
  • Added icon bar links between the malore & standard Recording Schedule menus for easy access to both.
That way, you can easily jump to the standard recording schedule to see the Parallel schedule view & find out which tuner is being used for a show... or at least that how I'm using it.

Well I'm sorry to say my problem here is caused by something in the Secret Extras. I deleted my Clients directory and let Sage recreate them and other than the WebServer running on the Service mode nothing else was imported. The last thing I enabled was the Secret Extras. So unless it is a combination of the two it looks like the problem is here. I attached the Extender properties file hope that helps.

Edit: added the server log

It isn't correctly handling the default MR options for already recorded shows. I'll fix it sometime... hopefully before the next release.

I believe this is fixed -- the default MR options should no longer affect existing recordings that are already completed; only airings that are currently recording or will finish airing in the future should have the settings applied.

The change will be in the next update.

Thanks for letting me know about the problem.

Opus,

My wife has a lot of favorites by Actor' Name and keywords. Is it possible in the future to be able to group the recordings by favorites? It would make it easier to seperate movies etc.... if we can set up a view grouped by Favorite.

Grouping by Favorite has been requested before... I finally added it for the next version.

One thing, though: if you group by Favorite, it will automatically filter out non-Favs so only Favs will be listed.

Edit: I fixed it so non-Favs can also be listed -- they will be in the <None> group.

Hi Andy,

I've run into a problem with the Malore Recordings screen. Using the new Dutch translation seems to turn it into a future recordings screen. Using the German translation has the same effect. The French translation does not cause this to happen however. Could you have a look at this?

Thanks,

Kris

I'm guessing that there is a "SageTV Recordings" line in the translation file that got translated when it shouldn't have. I should make it look like "xSageTV Recordings" so the translator knows not to translate it.

You could look for that in the translation file & remove it to see if that fixes it.

Andy,

Taking D__SageTV_Recordings_="SageTV Opnames" out of the SageTV3_i18n_nl file solved the problem. And then I saw the Disk Space Bar. I had to revert back to English to figure out what is said. In English it said: 276,3 GB free Next 48 hrs: 55 shows 87,1 GB. The Dutch version is: 276,3 GB free Next 48 urn: 55 toon 87,1 GB.

Free and next aren't getting translated, urn and toon are incomprehensable. "Free" translates as "vrij" and "next" as "volgende". "hours" becomes "uren" in Dutch. Shortening it to "urn" doesn't make any sense as this is an existing word, meaning the same as in English. "toon" would be correct if "shows" in the English version was the third person singular of the verb to show (tonen in dutch). Here it should be translated as "programma's". A good translation is: 276,3 GB vrij Volgende 48 uren: 55 programma's 87,1 GB. I looked through the translation file and these are the lines that need changing:

Code:
D_NumberFormat_0_0_VideoDiskSpaceFree_1000_1000_1000_0_GB_free_=NumberFormat("0.0", VideoDiskSpaceFree / 1000 / 1000 / 1000.0) + " GB vrij"
D_NumberFormat_0_0_VideoDiskSpaceFree_GetRecordingQualityBitrate_GetDefaultRecordingQuality_8_0_3600_0_hrs_free_=NumberFormat("0.0", VideoDiskSpaceFree/(GetRecordingQualityBitrate(GetDefaultRecordingQuality()) / 8.0 * 3600.0)) + " uren vrij"
D__Next_GetProperty_nielm_diskbar_lookahead_hours_48_hrs_NumberFormat_0_VideoDiskSpaceNumUpcommingRecs_shows_NumberFormat_0_0_VideoDiskSpaceNeeded_1000_1000_1000_0_GB_="Volgende " + GetProperty("nielm/diskbar_lookahead_hours", 48) + " uren: " + NumberFormat("0", VideoDiskSpaceNumUpcommingRecs) + " programma's " + NumberFormat("0.0", VideoDiskSpaceNeeded / 1000 / 1000 / 1000.0) + " GB"
D__Next_GetProperty_nielm_diskbar_lookahead_hours_48_hrs_NumberFormat_0_VideoDiskSpaceNumUpcommingRecs_shows_NumberFormat_0_0_VideoTimeNeeded_3600_0_hrs_="Volgende " + GetProperty("nielm/diskbar_lookahead_hours", 48) + " uren: " + NumberFormat("0", VideoDiskSpaceNumUpcommingRecs) + " programma's " + NumberFormat("0.0", VideoTimeNeeded/3600.0) + " uren"
Dutch users would appreciate it if these changes could be included in future versions. I've seen a some problems with the translation in the official part of the UI also. I'll file a bug report for those when I've seen some more screens in Dutch.

Thanks,

Kris

OK, that's what I figured -- I've already changed the STV to use different text, so that translation can remain for use in other places after the next STV update.

I've made a note of the lines you changed. For other translation issues, please submit a bug report -- you can post in the Netherlands forum, but a bug report will probably be better.

Quick question about the Malore Menu option for Recorded Shows.

Is there a way to prevent the list on the left (shows) and the list on the right (episodes) from wrapping around when scrolling?

I prefer, when I get to the bottom of the list, to actually stop, and not wrap around to the first episode. It can get confusing on the right side especially, but on the left side, it's a minor annoyance. This is also the behavior of the recording list with Malore's menu turned off.

Thanks, I do like this list view a lot.

No, there is no option to turn off wrap-around scrolling (the regular recording menu wraps too; not sure if that's what you meant).

You could either change the behavior by using Studio or there is a customization that might include that -- the the customizations sticky.

Note that you can also use the numbers 1-0 to jump to positions in the list: 1 jumps to the first item, 0 jumps to the last item, and other numbers jump to points in between. Those are easy ways to jump to known points.
